While some reviews claim that this was recommended by tattoo artists, I question both the benzyl alcohol and sodium laureth sulfate. It seems that many "after care" products do contain alcohol, but I personally believe that plain old diluted green soap is the best cleaner that can be used and I have always had good luck with it. With that said, I do not have a new tattoo and have not tried this on one, nor will I likely do so. I have used the soap on older tattooed areas with no ill effects and the antibacterial aspect has actually help with healing on a bad scratch I received on a forearm tattoo recently. Use your own judgement as far as usage on new tattoos and the product may be perfectly safe and cause no fading, I'm just not willing to risk it knowing the efficacy of green soap from experience. It for sure seems to be a gentle cleanser with fair antibacterial properties.
