My Second Nixplay Frame. Really Pleased!
I purchased my first Nixplay frame about 8 years ago. It was on and playing around 12 hours a day and worked wonderfully until it finally stopped working. I had nothing but a good experience with it and so I decided to purchase a new 15" frame. This large frame format is quite pricey, but the amount of joy we get from our frame makes it well worth the cost. I've had the frame now for two or so months. It's gorgeous. This frame format really is so much nicer than some of the other Nixplay and it's competitors formats. It's elegant looking and doesn't look like a tech photo frame. The viewing angles are quite wide. The frame works as well as it could with both landscape and portrait oriented pictures. We keep the frame in landscape mode. So when a portrait picture comes up, the frame will pan up or down the picture in a random direction. So on some portrait pictures you might for sometime see the bottom or top of the picture, with the actual subject out of frame. Overall it works very well, but there are a small number of pictures that you never see the subject as much as you'd like. But all of the other tech works very well. I can upload (or others in my family can from their phones) pictures directly from the photo app on their phone to the frame. Sometimes larger sized pictures have to be uploaded from the phone Nixplay app, to the frame. Regardless, uploads are easy and work either way. So much more I could say... I'll close by saying that I just purchased a smaller version of this frame for my daughter's birthday.

So many problems
The picture looks fantastic; however, I have had sooooooo many problems with this frame. I have had to reset it and completely start over about 6 times and I have only had the frame 5 months. The remote control does not work and the pictures will not advance on their own so unless you want to spend $335 on a frame to just watch one photo like I did - do not buy this frame. It has caused me more hours of frustration than pleasure. At this price it is a total rip-off!

Disappointed in this frame's limitations
The frame is pretty and has a beautiful picture. The problem I have is with the software. It interfaces with Google Photos but will only show the 1st 10GB or 2000 under the free subscription. Even the paid subscription, which is $50 per year will not show all the photos in my Google album. In addition, you can't display the information from the picture. No name, date or location. You can add a caption to each picture, but I can't imagine doing that for even 2000 pictures. It won't auto create a caption from the info, which you can see in the app. In addition, the frame isn't displaying the pictures in the Playlist order. It is set to display most recently added first and seemed to be shuffling the photos. I set up a return, but I really was looking forward to seeing all my pictures on this frame. Will do my research much more carefully before trying another digital frame.

15 inch one is ridiculous
I hate that they only give two size options. 10 inch is far to small for where it would be, we have a very old model that is 12 inch and is sized perfect. So I bit the bullet and got the 15 inch and oh my gosh the size of it is ridiculous. It is so tall and skinny it doesn’t even look like a frame. It’s shaped like a giant iPhone. Which sure I get the reasoning but it looks so stupid. It needed to be at least an inch wider if not two to look like a true frame. I didn’t even set it up to try I hated it that much. Sure if I put it landscape mode it’s slightly better but it’s the same screen size almost as the smaller one in portrait mode lol. Nixplay you gotta do better than this. I will be going to a different brand frame now which makes me sad but I cannot live with the obnoxious size options.

Nixplay cripples customer frames unless you pay ransom. Not disclosed in product description.
Amazon needs to update the product description on all Nixplay frames ASAP! Nixplay CEO just emailed existing customers, letting them know their expensive frames would be crippled in April unless they cough up an annual subscription fee.Multiple shared albums are no longer supported in the basic plan. Links to Google and Dropbox photo storage are being severed. Video will be limited to 15 seconds, images limited to 3 MB per photo and your ENTIRE album is limited to 500 MB. Already got an update in my Nixplay app today warning that my account exceeds the new album limit of more than one. ONE! And the size of my photo collection, which is not large, exceeds the new size limit by about 50%.It’s one thing to tell new customers they have to cough up a subscription fee to use their product. That would be something a potential customer could factor in to their decision to choose Nixplay over competing networked frames, along with image quality and ease of use. But to spring this change on people who JUST purchased the product a few months ago under entirely different terms? That’s egregious. Existing users should be grandfathered into the terms they agreed to at the time of purchase. Now I have to reach out to relatives I’ve gifted or recommended these frames to and let them know their frames will be crippled by Nixplay unless they cough up this unexpected fee.

Gatekeeping your own photos and videos now behind subscription fees. Don’t buy.
Do not buy. Used to be good, but now switching to a subscription fee to access your photos. Ridiculous after all these years that any photos and videos over 500 MB of storage need a subscription. Don’t worry though they aren’t deleting your overage, you just have to pay to access them. Ashamed they would do this now, and with the price of these frames. I have bought multiple for myself and gifts and wish I hadn’t. Given them to seniors in my family so they could see their pictures and those their grandkids take. Now they will have to pay to keep seeing them. Horrendous.
