I typically buy Sensationail brand gel polishes since I have the Sensationail starter kit with LED light, however they are much more expensive (about $9 per bottle vs about $1 per bottle, granted these bottles are smaller but I don't mind) and I wanted to try a different brand to save money. PROS - * I got the Pastel Paradise set. I was pleasantly surprised to see the cute packacking and the awesome caddy the polishes come in. All the colors were labeled with a color sticker on top which is very convenient. * The bottles are the same size as the smaller Sensational polishes so I didn't think they were too small, especially for the price. They're barely more than $1 each ... * I got full coverage with 2 coats of color. With Sensationail I always have to do 3 coats. * Because the polish is so thick, it doesn't pull away at the tips of your nails and has a very evenly opaque application. * I was able to get a nice looking mani pedi by following the provided instructions. However, 2 steps I didn't see listed that I always follow are to wipe your nails with a lint free cloth and alcohol to clean them after buffing and shaping them, and then use a gel primer on each nail. So I added these steps. CONS - * The polish is so thick. It feels goopy, kind of like regular polish that is getting dried out. That makes it difficult to apply thin coats and also difficult to apply it neatly without going on your skin. Sensationail polish is much thinner and easier to apply. * The colors in the product description and the color on the top of the bottle do not match the actual color of the polish. As you can see from my photos, my nails are a slightly different color than the bottle. Also the colors in the description seem much brighter than in real life. However they are still very pretty shades. I just used this polish for the first time today so I can't speak to how long it lasts, however it seems very durable so far. Overall I really like this set and would recommend it. You cannot beat the price for so many beautiful colors. ----- UPDATE after 1 week of wear - the polish chipped much more easily than Sensational brand and I only got 1 week of use versus the 2 weeks I expect from a gel polish. I'm going to try again with a set of firmer, smaller tipped nail art brushes I bought for this purpose. I think the problem was the large brushes that come with these bottles do not allow you to get the corners and tips of the nails well enough & also don't allow you to apply a thin coat. I think this will be much more successful and will update again if I have any issues.

I wanted to start creating my own press on nails because I got bored of what store brand nails were available. Initially after some research I hesitated from purchasing beetles but decided to take a chance and im so glad I did. I had never done gel nails before, so a few hours of research went into application and making sure I was making everything as safe as they can be. I used colors from both the Pastel Paradise set and the Glitter line - Treasures on Tip set. This is two coats of each pastel. The Glitter nail I used 1 coat of pastel as a base and two coats of glitter. I didnt find either set difficult to work with, the polish is thick but easily spread, the glitter takes a bit of a learning curve as you have to pack it on the nail without letting the coat get too thick. I found swiping the nail and then patting the nail gently to fill in gaps worked best. I used a 220w uv led lamp to cure and cured each coat for 3 minutes at a minimum. I could have possibly used less time but didnt want to risk exposure to uncured gel polish. The colors are pretty opaque, 2 thin coats and theyre solid. Its definitely going to be a learning curve, especially working out optimal cure times with my lamp, but for a first ever set, I'm pretty happy with my results. I used Kiss Kiss Coffin Long full cover nails and the nail stickers and rhinestones all came from Amazon. Just a note, the Pastel set bottles are VERY small BUT theres easily enough in each bottle to do 20+ 2 coat manicures, so dont let that put you off.
