Beautiful, opaque kombucha crock
So I wanted to bring kombucha into my home but I knew my spouse would freakkk out at the sight of it. Enter this gorgeous crock that does its job perfectly! Great kombucha that you cannot see!!! Perfect. Only issue I ran into is the temp sticker that came with it did not work well/was very hard to see. Added another one from another company and the second sticker worked fine and was able to gauge exactly what the temp was inside the crock. Definitely recommend this gorgeous crock for any kombucha folks out there. It's so pretty to have on display instead of hiding in a dark corner with the boogey man.

Just what the pros recommended!
I bought the Big Kimbucha Book and they recommended this size for continuous brewing. Even for one person. This is a well made crock with a highly recommended stainless steel spigot. (Also recommended in the book.). This is my first attempt at making my own, but I am confident in this crock from Humble House this it will be fantastic and will last years for good health.

Perfect for kombucha!
This crock is perfect for continuously brewing your own kombucha. Big size, never leaks, I do not usually leave reviews, but after 6 months of using this - I am referring a friend to buy one and had to tell *everyone* how well this works.

Great for bulk kombucha making
This has been in constant use since I bought it four months ago. It works wonderfully for making kombucha. I just toss it in the dish washer after every batch to sanitize it, and it comes out perfectly clean each time. The spigot is well made and a real game changer when it comes to bottling your product with ease. When the liquid level depletes beneath the spigot, you can simply tilt the entire unit in order to get the last of the batch out. I've never had any leakage issues with this vessel whatsoever. According to some of the other reviews, your milage may vary, but it appears that the manufacturer is proactive in remedying these issues if you happen to get a defective one and contact them. I'm taking off one star because there were some minor flaws on mine. These are purely cosmetic issues that don't affect functionality. You probably wouldn't notice them unless you took a hard look at the vessel. It's minor enough where it doesn't bother me, but at this price point, I believe it's worth noting. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is interested in efficiently producing large amounts of kombucha for personal use.

Flawed crock, great customer service!
Today I received the replacement for my damaged crock. It began to crack after a year of use. I used it for continuous brew kombucha. And it did a wonderful job! It sat quietly doing its thing. Then the cracks. I noticed that several were matching cracks, inside and outside. I wrote to Humble House and explained, including pictures. They were so kind to write back and inquire further. Then they offered to replace it. It took a while. Yet I’m grateful. They knew it was past a warranty period. They’re a family business. I get it. I’m also a business owner, and I try to understand and respond respectfully to my customer’s concerns. Good business is built on good relationships. So, while the crock was cracked, the response was whole hearted. I gave it 5 stars because it worked beautifully, and there’s integrity in the business.

Kombucha seeps through walls
Ive been using this crock for nearly 4 months now. I brew around 8 cups weekly of tea. The past 3 weeks Ive noticed that there has been sticky residue all of the crock and the counter top within a week. I thought maybe I was spilling tea and didnt clean up my mess well. This past brew I made sure to clean the outside of the crock several times to be sure I had not spilled any. Within 4 days there was sticky residue all over the crock again. Little beads of kombucha on the outside. I know realize the kombucha is seeping through the walls and making a huge mess. Eventually my crock is going to be covered in ants coming in for the sticky mess. Overall I really liked this crock. Its small, appealing has a lip for a rubber band and the spigot works well. But if its going to keep seeping out and making a mess its not worth the money I spent on it. Very disappointed

Substantial
This is my second purchase of this "Krock." I'm really glad I went with this model instead of something cheaper. It looks great on the counter and the spigot is substantial feeling. There were no assembly instructions, but I figured it out and used a wrench to really tighten the nut down which is critical to really squeeze the substantial washers that you place on both sides of the Krock wall. I have two krocks of Kombucha going at a time because it is practically all I drink. I have to say, when I ordered this one, strangely a cheap knockoff clear container with plastic spout (used!) arrived inside the HumbleHouse box. Not sure how that happened, but thankfully Amazon made it right and sent me out my legit Krock right away. It does not leak if you make sure to tighten the nut thoroughly.

10 liter works great
Easy to setup and get going. Previously I did batches. The only thing I miss is the evanescence I can get in second fermentation. So I’m trying to also serving ferment from the crock. It’s big and well made, would buy again if needed. Only comes with one cover, so try to find another. Cover did keep out fruit flies

I got a white 5L one delivered in December 2023 as an xmas present for myself :)) and have been using it for 6 months to give an accurate & helpful a review as possible. In short it's a fantastic crock... as long as you respect a few basics with your prepwork. Pro Tip 1: Do a couple of leak tests first,.. using COLOURED liquid (like cold black tea). The area around the tap will leak if the seals aren't tight enough. But pottery will crack if there's too much tightening pressure. So, take your time, leave the leak test liquid over night and tighten up a bit, then test again, until the crock tap area doesn't leak at all ... but also hasn't been accidentally damaged with hairline cracks around the tap area. Pro Tip 2: Clean entire crock before 1st kombucha batch with white vinegar to kill off any bugs that could infect your scoby... including the inside of the tap. Pro Tip 3: Get the basic kombucha recipe correct (from the big book of kombucha instead of youtube) After a false start using a youtube recipe advocating waaaay too much sugar, I've pretty much perfected making 3 liters of kombucha / kombucha vinegar at a time in this beautiful piece of pottery. And it's been EASY. As a solo user, I use a 3 litre milk carton of dechlorinated water. Pouring some of it into a saucepan, it is boiled and i stir in 13 teaspoons of sugar & steep 3 Yorkshire black tea bags in the mix for 15 minutes. Once the saucepan contents have cooled enough, I just pour it back into the milk carton with the other water, shake a bit & leave to get to room temp, before gently adding the new brew into the crock. It's super easy to monitor the fermentation over the next few days with the tap & a shot glass. It's super easy to decant ready kombucha into bottles for fridge storage. And it's super easy to just open the tap and help myself to the vinegar on the daily as needed until i want to restock my drinking bottles with a fresh batch. For each 3 litres I produce, I use aprox 1.5 liters for 7-9 bottles of kombucha a week. And about 1 litre of kombucha vinegar for cooking, surface cleaning & hair/face treatments (detailed in the big book of kombucha). About 0.5 litre is kept in the crock as the starter mix for the next 3 litres of sugared black tea I add in. Pro Tip 4: Research what & how to clean with kombucha / white vinegar... In 6 months, this crock has already saved me most of its purchase price in cleaning products I no longer need to buy anymore. My shower glass & chrome gleam, my loo bend is bright white & limescale-free, windows sparkle, kitchen surfaces are squeaky clean and protected by 'good', gut-friendly bacteria dominating the areas bad bacteria would normally multiply into billions on etc etc. Even my steam cleaner works better again. I just can't believe how much I used to spend on job-specific cleaning products that kombucha vinegar does just as well for literally pennies per crock batch! !! Pro Tip 5: Every quarter year, use some of the vinegar/starter fluid to top up your spare 'just-in-case' scoby hotel (plus some added dissolved sugar) & separate the newer scoby layers/disks to stay inside the crock. This crock will grow massive, very healthy, very solid scoby disks given half a chance... which is great for making fast, quality kombucha... and for everything older scoby layers are good for. I am genuinely delighted with my first 6 months owning one of these kombucha crocka. And hope you will be just as happy with yours xx

Le pot semblait couler par le robinet, j’ai tout vidé pour constater que le pot était complètement fissuré et que le kombucha suintait à travers les craques. Beaucoup d’argent directement à la poubelle.
