Does a great job and works as advertised
I bought this with the intention of making beef jerky for Christmas presents for the guys in my family. Previously I have using the kitchen oven which does an okay job but really doesn’t offer the lower temperature needed for the task. This unit is easy to program, fits nicely on my counter, runs quietly and the stainless steel cleans up with a damp sponge. The seven racks offer plenty of space for a couple of pounds of meat at a time. It might cost a tad more the the round plastic dehydrators but I think it’s well worth it for more efficient production Good product, good price

Magic Mill MFD-7070 Dehydrator (7Tray). A dehydrator with a few nice options at a reasonable price
UPDATE: Nov 2025. Dehydrator still working fine.....No issues at all.....Now also using it to dry my 3D printer filament material.....as well as drying Jerky and Bananas, my favorites. Magic Mill MFD-7070 Dehydrator (7Tray) 1/6/23 REVIEW ***UPDATED NOV 20,2024 It's still working perfectly, the same as reported about a year ago. I've used it hundreds of times with anything and everything you can imagine, including using it to dry 3D filament for my 3D printer. All foods you can think of and some you can't. It works quickly and efficiently. I'd buy it again! Magic Mill MFD-7070 Dehydrator (7Tray) 1/6/23 REVIEW I'm a recently retired Electronics Test Engineer with over 50 years experience in the field. My digital dual Channel thermometer and thermocouples have been recently calibrated to 212F/100C. I have NOT been compensated in any way or had any contact with the manufacturer or sellers. This is an objective review of the MFD-7070 dehydrator. I looked at scores of dehydrators and selected this over the others because of it's features and reading of it's potential shortcomings in the reviews. (The fuse issue that I'll explain later). I tested the temperature swings and stability from min to max and regulation is very good. I set the dehydrator to 30 min/167F. It took 11 minutes to get up to temperature. I had 2 sensors in the dehydrator for test purpose an upper and lower. The tested temperature of HI/LO was 156.7F-178.5F cycling up and down making the AVERAGE temperature 167.5F, spot on! Wow. The AC current was as expected, it was 5.1Amps/121.2VAC and 609 watts, very consistent. About the reported thermal fuse complaints: In a few of the reviews, it is reported that an internal THERMAL fuse trips unexpectedly. Thermal fuses are designed to prevent overheating. If it trips you can go to the Magic Mill web site and order the THERMAL fuse. It's not hard to replace. They have an instruction video on how to replace it. The bottom line: It came well packed in double cartons and was well supported. It runs quiet and the controls are easy to use. The temperature control is in 9 steps not single degrees and the time is in 30 minute increments. It's appears to be a nice inexpensive dehydrator with great features that seems to work well. They recommend that you unplug it when not in use. One oddity is when you plug it into the AC outlet it shows all 8's on the display until you push any button then it displays correctly. It's like you took a power hit (like you see sometimes on your microwave display). I'd buy it again knowing the potential thermal fuse issue. Pictures show the test with strawberries and Bananas and temperature/wattage/amps/AC voltage

Reliable, no fuss dehydration that handles batches
I bought this because I wanted to preserve more of the produce I buy and to have jerky and fruit snacks on hand without constant grocery runs. The idea of even drying from a rear mounted fan and not having to rotate the shelves sounded right, and the clear door window helps me monitor progress without opening the unit. Using it is straightforward. I set the temperature, drop in slices of beef or apples, and start the timer. When it finishes it shuts off automatically and the keep warm feature is handy if a bit of time passes before I get to it. What stood out most is how evenly it dries across all seven stainless steel trays, and the option to use regular and mesh trays along with fruit leather sheets for rolls. Cleanup is easy too since the trays are dishwasher safe and the housing wipes clean. One small note is the size it takes up on the counter and the need to plan batch sizes to fill the seven trays. Overall, it feels like a dependable, well made dehydrator that delivers consistent results and makes home drying practical.

Excellent Quality an Value
The Magic Mill Pro Food Dehydrator with 7 stainless steel trays has been an excellent addition to my kitchen. It heats evenly, runs quietly, and produces consistently great results—especially for jerky. The stainless steel trays feel sturdy and are easy to clean, and the overall build quality is solid and well thought out. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the start/stop button. It’s very sensitive, and I’ve accidentally brushed against it more than once while checking on my jerky, which stops the cycle unexpectedly. It’s a small design flaw, but noticeable with frequent use. That said, performance-wise this dehydrator delivers exactly what it promises, and I’d still recommend it to anyone serious about dehydrating meats, fruits, or vegetables. With a slightly less sensitive control button, it would be perfect.

Huge Improvement over round dehydrator
I have had this dehydrator for 2 months now and have run at least 2 dozen cycles. I had a round stackable dehydrator that served me well, but I now do more than it can handle. The round shape is not really conducive for dehydrating as it wastes a lot of space and for fruit leathers make them an odd shape for storage. The rectangular shape on this dehydrator is able to fit a lot more stuff. I have made apple chips, dried sweet potatoes and beets, fruit leathers, and beef jerky. It has all come out great. Had to do some trial and error on the temperature and times due to the larger batches, but I have now used it for a couple months and have dialed in the times and temperatures for most of the normal stuff I dehydrate. I love the timer function. My last dehydrator was just plugged in so you had to be around at the end of the drying time to unplug it to stop or risk over drying stuff. Now I can start something at night and have it end on its own in the middle of the night and then unpack it in the morning. So much better. The metal trays have worked great and are easy to clean. They seem to be well constructed (ie I haven't seen any broken welds). I run them through the dishwasher to clean them. No rusting or coatings. Apple chips pop right off whole with no problem. I did some strawberries that stuck pretty good, but I think the problem was I did them too thin and they all broke off in pieces than coming off whole. Will eventually try again next year during strawberry season. Beef jerky (marinated sliced steak type) comes right off, no sticking at all. I bought some fine mesh plastic trays to use just in case, but haven't needed to use them yet. The dehydrator dries things pretty evenly regardless of where it is in the machine. I have loaded all 7 trays with apple slices and as long as they are all the same thickness (definitely need a mandolin slicer) they dry evenly regardless if they are in the front, back, top, or bottom. I have not needed to rotate a tray for any of the stuff I have done.

Easy to use
This dehydrator works like a dream. It is big enough to handle up to 5LBS of jerky at a time, easy to use and clean. I have made some delicious venison jerky with this and I am soon making snack sticks.
