Proform Carbon Treadmills: Treadmills for Walking and Running with Built-in Fan and SpaceSaver Design

I am totally happy with this purchase. 100%. Arrival: Single, large box that has a lot of guards and padding for secure delivery condition. BUT this is extremely heavy; 300+ pounds in a single box. We had to use a hand truck and 2 dolly's to move it around into our first floor. Unpacking in advance does not help all that much! Assembly: Take your time unpacking. There are 4 main items - the base, the side rails, the cross bar and the console. The hardware provided is packaged in blister packs and they provide all the tools needed to assemble. And as a side note... these are nice tools! I own a ton of tools and I never even thought about breaking anything out to put this together. Nice touch! The trickiest part is snaking the wires, but they make it very easy to do correctly; just take your time. Build quality: Impressive! This is sturdy and extremely well made. Built in Vietnam and they did a great job. Beautiful design is practically perfect in every way and there is no skimping on the assembly. Functionality: Works smoothly and is extremely quiet. I am 6' tall and 210 pounds and the tread is wide enough and long enough for an effective workout. Speed and incline are super easy to use and operates perfectly. Bottom line: Supe happy with this purchase. I am impressed with the design, build and functionality at this price point. I can't think of anything that they could have done better. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I love this treadmill. High quality. This is my 3rd Proform treadmill. My primary use is for walking; I'm 68 years old. Very heavy and relatively easy to assemble, I did it by myself, but a second person would be best. Watching the online video and assembling it one step at a time worked perfectly. It would have been worth the extra expense to have it delivered to the exact room where I planned on using it. I had it delivered to my carport and had to move it inside, piece by piece, which was a real pain, very heavy! I have not used most of the features yet, as I really only wanted it for walking, but great, great, great. I would definitely recommend this product, easier and cheaper than paying for a gym membership for someone like me that only wants to get their steps in, will pay for itself in a few months.

Good quality. Easy to assemble. Easy to operate. Nice incline. About a year old or so. No problems.

The running belt is only 18” wide. Zoom in on photo and you’ll see. Otherwise it’s a great machine for quality and value. Fine for walking and maybe a slow jog. Assembly is not too bad. All tools included and it takes 2 people that can handle the weight and the instructions. The controls are straightforward and easy to figure out. Also uses iFIT but I have no interest in that. Very sturdy unit and comes with a good motor.

The BRAND NEW FOR 2024 ProForm Carbon TLX is an outstanding very attractive quality-built treadmill at a great price! After doing a lot of research and comparing treadmills in the $1,000 - $1,500 price range from all the major manufacturers I purchased this one on sale for just $850 and I'm very happy with it. The original manufacturer's retail price in early 2024 was $1,000 but the price on Amazon tends to fluctuate slightly up and down all the time for no apparent reason. Despite this inconsistent pricing the ProForm Carbon TLX is a great purchase and an outstanding value. The ProForm Carbon TLX comes very well-packed and partially assembled in a large heavy-duty reinforced cardboard box that weighs 250+ lbs so I'm glad I paid the extra $20 for room-of-choice delivery. This treadmill has all the major features and functions of the more expensive treadmills without the big pricy high-definition touchscreen or other unnecessary computerized fitness monitoring "gimmicks" which are seldom, if ever, used. The ProForm Carbon TLX is designed and built to support users up to 300 lbs in weight. It has a powerful heavy-duty 3-hp electric motor, fully adjustable speeds from 1-12 mph, up to 12-degrees in adjustable incline, and a full-size 60-inch-long cushioned running deck... something you won't find on most treadmills in this price range. The treadmill also has a nice built-in 3-speed electric fan to keep you cool and two built-in speakers that can be connected to your smartphone or tablet so you can listen to music or watch a movie. All of these features are controlled with "Quick-Access" touch-buttons conveniently located on the nicely designed center console. The console also has a very convenient built-in shelf that holds your smartphone or tablet for easy viewing. The build quality of the ProForm Carbon TLX is excellent and the precision machined parts made the treadmill's assembly very easy to do although you will need two people for the job. My wife supplied the extra pair of hands needed and helped me by holding some of the pieces in place while I bolted everything together. It took us about an hour total and I encountered no problems with poorly fitting or missing parts. There is nothing more frustrating than poorly fitting, or worse yet, missing parts! I should also mention that a very nice set of tools needed for assembly are included so you don't need to supply any of your own tools... an unexpected pleasant surprise! My wife and I have both been using this treadmill to run and walk a combined total of 5 to 7 miles every day for the past 6 months and we absolutely love it! My wife really enjoys using the fan to keep her cool and using the built-in speakers to listen to her music during her workouts. I like how quiet and smooth the motor and belt run for both running and walking and having instant access to all of my exercise information on the full-color display screen. I also like how easily the running deck folds up and out of the way so the treadmill doesn't take up a lot of room when you're not using it. One last thing definitely worth mentioning is that you don't have to have Internet access or register or sign up for the 30-day free trial of the online iFIT exercise program before you can turn on and operate the treadmill as several uninformed people in these reviews claim. My wife and I chose not to use iFIT because we didn't want to pay the monthly subscription fee for it. We use the ProForm Carbon TLX and all of its features in the manufacturer's standard manual mode. All you have to do to use the treadmill this way is simply press and hold down the blue iFIT button on the console for about 10-15 seconds and the iFIT exercise program is bypassed and the treadmill will operate perfectly... no iFIT registration or Internet needed. You only have to do this one time... not every time you turn on the treadmill. In summary, the ProForm Carbon TLX is an outstanding very attractive quality-built treadmill with all the features you need at a very reasonable price. None of the other treadmills in its price range can match the value, performance and quality of the ProForm Carbon TLX. I highly recommend it and would definitely purchase it again!

I was pleased to say that my treadmill arrived a week early. It was packaged very well. UPS did some damage to the outside of the box but it had no impact on the product inside due to its packaging. My one complaint was in regards to two metal pieces that were tie wrapped to the legs. They looked like they were a part of the treadmill however there was no mention of the pieces in the owners manual. An hour long phone call with customer service advised me that they were packing material and could be discarded. Overall the product went together relatively easy. The owners manual was easy to follow. Putting the treadmill through its paces showed to have a great incline ability (very smooth). The treadmill is well built and rather heavy duty in that our larger members of the family that use it comment that it is very stable and does not move at all. I find the value of what I paid for what I received was a good value. I would give it 5 out of 5 stars!!!!

We just received our pro-form carbon treadmill. It is durable, and is working well. However, I would not suggest purchasing it without the assembly assistance. It took two trained man one hour to put it together. They did an awesome job, but I would not describe it as easy to assemble.

TLDR: Treadmill works fine in manual mode but if you are looking to purchase for the automated ifit trainings look further. App constantly crashes and customer support sucks. I purchased this specifically for its ability to run ifit running programs that automatically control the treadmills speed and incline. My first 10 attempts to get them to work together left me with no choice but to reach out to ifit customer support (which frankly they shouldn’t even be allowed that title because there was no support provided). The treadmill and ifit would connect fine, then I would choose a program, start the workout, and all worked great until the warmup was ending and the main video playing. At that point the app would consistently crash within a quarter second and send me back to the iPhone/ipad Home Screen. I tried on multiple devices, confirmed I had solid WiFi running 350MB up/down, unplugged and plugged the treadmill back in, deleted the app and reinstalled, etc. It was at this point I went to ifits website and hit the chat option. Their chat bot told me to try resetting the treadmill to factory settings. I went through every page of the owners manual, no instructions how to do this and the bot didn’t provide me a link or anything helpful to instructions so I was forced to reach out to CS. Started with 1 department then was juggled to another after a long wait. It became very clear that agent had no familiarity with the product or the software. For example, 45 min into this he admitted he thought this was a treadmill with a video screen that was built in (not one you needed an iPad or similar to connect with). Now bear in mind this is 45 minutes of me explaining the exact issue and that I have tried several different iPhones/ipads, and I had provided both the model and serial number of the treadmill. The call ended with me being told he hoped the device would team would find a resolution and add it into the next app version update. REALLY??!! No timeline for that or guarantee but he could offer me 2 months free of ifit subscription. Ummmmm, how about a refund since yall are selling a service that doesn’t actually work as advertised. Thanks ifit for wasting a couple hours of putting together a treadmill and then at least 4 hours of frustration with your product and lack of support. If you just want a treadmill for its manual functions then this one is fine but if you are wanting it for the ifit programming then maybe the ones with the built in screen work better or a peloton (I don’t have any experience with either of those options so best of luck).
