Genius! Must Have For Anyone That Loves The Outdoors!
These are Genius! These are a must have item for anyone that spends time outdoors, afield, hunting, camping, hiking etc. Especially if you "adventure" alone! These are a must have item for me now that I know they exist. This pack of 3 has landed a permanent spot in my bug out bag and I am going to get more for use in my other packs so that I have these as an option in the case of an emergency or even just for times when fishing is tough. These can fish for you while you are doing other things with the daylight, like making a shelter, getting a bearing, tending to other tasks that may be a necessity at the time. So for an emergency item these are a game changer as they are essentially 3 full time fishermen that work for you while you are away from the water. I can see these being especially useful on slow fishing days when I am trying a variety of baits and lures and trying to "figure out the fish" on the day with little luck. I can live bait these, send them on out and let them try to catch while I am trying to catch having 4 of us trying to catch dinner! I do wish the price was a little better so I could use them with less reservations and so that more people would give them a chance. At the time of this review with a 10% coupon applied they are approx. $6 each or $18 for the 3 pack. That’s a good chunk of change to throw in the water for some of us. Nevertheless, I feel they are still worth it to have in an emergency situation as this gives you options and options are what you need when you are in a hairy situation.I really like that these do not need a fishing pole to be used! These are WAY easier to carry and deploy than having THREE fishing poles and THREE automatic rod holders! I said "genius" before because the sensitivity can be adjusted on these also! So if you want them to be a little tougher to go off, there is included, an adjustment tool to bend the trigger to make the sensitivity either really hard or really light. Adjusting that can allow you to cast these without them triggering during the cast! The hooks and gear used to assemble these are really nice quality and I am very happy with them overall. I really like that these are "serviceable" meaning that I can repair them if the line breaks or that I can replace the line and hook with bigger or smaller gear depending on what I am trying to fish for. Bundle these with a little baggie of different hooks and a few loops of different strength lines and that will disappear into a pack adding basically zero weight. The baggie they come in is a perfect storage container to add things too and then store it all away in a pack for a rainy day.I love the concept of these and how well they are designed and work. No doubt they catch fish. I love that they are Made In The U.S.A. and SPEEDHOOK stands completely behind their product! These are an absolute, 1,000% recommendation even if you plan on never using them! A+++ item. Very happy with them and I AM GOING TO order again! I need at least 9 more! I can honestly see these being a lifesaver in certain situations! ….but I can also see these being a boatload of fun especially on slow days and the kids are around.

Neat hook setup essentially works like a fish trap.
Tried this out because I was really curious about how it works. I’m pretty impressed after trying it out because it’s very similar to the old spring-loaded rodent traps but this essentially works for fish. The middle clasp opens as soon as it gets enough of a tug and then it tightens the hook upwards, automatically setting the hook! This is going to be very effective for the slower days where I’ve been getting a lot of nibbles but no heavy bites - it’ll turn more nibbles into catch.

Cool design
These are actually pretty cool. It's kind of like an automatic hook set. They are spring loaded so when the fish bites it triggers the spring and sets the hook. Nifty. Meant to be used for ice fishing, to be suspended vertically in the water. Not hard to set up at all, and an overall cool, fun design.

Interesting design, but they can still get away
I frequently take my daughter fishing at a neighborhood pond that is catch and release only as is stocked with several native species, especially bluegill. With it being strictly catch and release, all of the fish have been caught multiple times and are adept and stealing worms off the hook before you can hook them making them challenging to catch, especially for youngsters who are just learning how to fish. I thought this device might make it easier to catch the fish since at least in theory it should automatically hook them. Unfortunately these sneaky fish are frequently able to get it to pop without getting hooked and still sneak away with the worm.Setup is fairly simple, but it does take a little bit of practice to set it correctly. Just be careful you don't bump the hook once it's set. It's best to bait the hook before setting the spring.

Self setting hooks, great for kids and emergency conditions alike.
This design is really neat. That said, be careful with them as it is set to go off when bit by a fish, but will also do so on a careless touch from a hand.Basically you can set this rig out on a bobber of hung from a limb and doesn’t really need a lot of attention beyond that. Hence, it is great for kids and also for an emergency or survival situation as you could set several of them out at once to catch dinner while you work on other things. They give you springs to tune them, but honestly, I wouldn’t touch them as they are setup right for almost all conditions.

Hard to Figure Out, Low Hookup Ratio
I have tried to figure out exactly how to use these hook setters, but I don't know if I'm doing it right or not. We don't get thick enough ice for ice fishing and the water is too low to hang them from tree limbs, so the only method I have tried them with was a bobber and a small buoy, but that only caught 1 fish. I got many bites, but the fish evaded the hook and took my bait. I wouldn't recommend these for anyone except preppers who need them for emergency food catching. Difficult product.

Interesting concept
I have yet to use these, as I will probably be getting out fishing next spring. However, these seem to be made well. It’s an interesting concept that I’ve never used before, so we’ll see how it works later down the road

Great addition to my survival bag.
I carry a "possibles kit" with me whenever I venture in to the back country. This kit includes all of the things I could possibly need in a survival situation (i.e. water treatment, signaling, fire starting, etc.). I picked these up to add to the small collection of fishing gear I keep in that kit. These are constructed out of stainless steel wire so there is little concern about them rusting. They require a bit of practice to get the hang of how to set them but after two or three practice sessions it's a breeze. After a short practice period I was able to set these up with ease. I would suggest covering the hook with something before attempting to set these the first time. When they trigger that hook moves FAST!These will be a great addition to my survival possibles kit, as well as my "go-bag" and vehicle emergency kit. Highly recommended for any outdoor enthusiast.
