Very nice Home Automation lock. Works great with SmartThings !
I originally purchased this lock as part of the "Amazon Key" kit. The "Amazon Key" kit was terrible due to a poor design and crummy camera. The "Amazon Key" design forces the Yale lock to connect to the Amazon camera ... not your Home Automation system !Even though I was disappointed in the Amazon Key system and sent it back for a refund, I fell in love with the Yale Lock. It was easy to install, looked really good on the front door and operated better than a Schlage or Kwikset. So, after sending the "Amazon Key" kit back for a refund, I ordered the ZigBee version of this lock. (cheaper than the Amazon Key version too !).Connecting it to our SmartThings home automation system was very easy. Programming the lock was also very easy.I really like the voice menus ... they make setting up the lock, entering user codes and setting options simple. Each time you press a button while in program mode, the lock speaks to you and helps you through whatever option or setting you are trying to change. I easily setup multiple user codes and configured the lock to automatically "relock itself" 60 seconds after unlocking. The SmartThings integration works well also. Not only can I lock or unlock the door from anywhere on the planet, I can instantly see the if our front door is currently locked or unlocked. It's also easy to set up notifications or text messages anytime someone unlocks the front door. SmartThings even tells me which lock code was used. I just wish that I could program user codes from the SmartThings app. From looking at the SmartThings device handler ... the Yale lock supports remote programming over ZigBee .. it just hasn't worked for me. But ... that really is a minor Home Automation issue and isn't a problem with the Yale Lock. I still give this lock 5 stars !

So far, so good…
I installed this lock with the Zigbee adapter today, for use with Home Assistant.Installation was easy. I initially had trouble because I didn’t also replace the jamb plate, which caused the deadbolt to have trouble locking automatically. That was my fault, as the existing plate seemed like it had the same clearance. It paired perfectly with Home Assistant via the Zigbee integration.

Most awesome smartlocks!
I have 4 of these locks with Zigbee module on my doors. I bought my first two in July 2019 (which at the time included installation) from Amazon and loved them so much, I bought two more from Amazon and had a handyman install the second two, it was so easy. They install easily where there were existing deadbolts. No drilling, but all installations required carving out a little extra space for the length of the deadbolt since it was longer than the preexisting deadbolt. Setting up with the Echo Show 10 2nd gen (has Zigbee compatible hub) and Alexa took some time since I didn’t know what I was doing. If in the house, I can tell the echo show to lock all, or some, of the doors or unlock them, or I can get on the Alexa app at home or away, even in a different country as long as I have internet, and check the status of the locks, lock the locks or unlock the locks. The only time the lock didn’t lock was when someone didn’t fully close the door. I can put in a temporary code on one of the doors for guests using their birthday info, but that I do at the actual lock that they will use. I don’t think I can do that on the Alexa app. I love these locks! I have never had a problem with any of them.

Great Product, Poor Support with regards to knowledge of Alexa
I bought this product because it said it works with an Alexa Echo device. Well, let me tell you how difficult it was to figure out how to set it up. Nowhere in the packaging instructions or tech support (call) does it give you any walk through. I thought maybe they sent the wrong one. After hours of tech support calls with Yale and Alexa support I was at a dead end. I continued to search online and finally found some information. You DO NOT want to select the locks > Yale option in Alexa. You want to search for “Other” and be sure your lock is in network mode.Once I found this, it was set up with Alexa in seconds.Yale support had no clue what to do. Was not thrilled with support.Otherwise I am thrilled with the smart lock and have had no other issues.

Very useful product. Your mind is the limit.
One the best and useful product I have for my smarthome. It is easy to install even if I had to make a bigger hole on my door. I had to use a special tool from Home Depot, so factor that in the purchase. Once I was done with the whole, installation was less than 20 minutes. I use with SmartThings. I created routines for example, based on the pin enter/time pin entered different action: turn on entrance light, send notifications. Door auto lock after 4 minutes. I create pin for family member with expiry date. I can lock with Alexa. Unlock with Alexa by providing specific vocal pin. Not the same as panel pin. When I say good night, door autolock . Battery is still at 89% after almost 7 months . This is a zigbee product not internet. So you need a hub. There is other version which doesn’t need a hub.

Sturdy smart Lock
Added this to my Rogers Smart home system. Works perfectly with it. Installed on a door that needed hole made bigger so install was tough but we had it completed with 4 hours between going to the store to buy what was needed to make the hole bigger.Looks great, works well but you need a hub for the smart features so read before buying.

Nice smart lock
Took some time and patience to set up properly. The tech support was good. The first module did not work and Yale sent out another... which ended up taking a long time - so amazon sent us a replacement within a couple days and now everything works fine.

painful to try and connect to a smart home system.
Product dose not work as intended.save 350 $ and just pick up a regular keypad deadbolt.and here is whybought this thinking it would work with Alexa, it dose say right on the box works with alexa, what it forgot to add was that you need to spend another 100+$ to buy a "different hub" and also that hub is a huge pain and the lock still wont connect to it.so in the end if you are looking for a plug and play experience when setting up a smart home I would suggest looking at other products and avoid the "smart things" hub's when lock shopping.

Need help? You are in your own...
It is a nice looking lock, it talks and it is cool. Sadly I couldn’t connect it to my “Almond smarthub”, so i started a search online to sadly find that Yale does not provide any support for the smart features! Sure there is even an APP to help you with the hardware, but that’s it! I tried to contact Yale and it was ridiculous 3 days and I couldn’t reach a real person, nor i heard back from them.
