The thread is M6-1.0 not SAE 1/4-20.
The shackles are very sturdy and hold well. They look like SAE 1/4-20 but are actually M6-1.0. As long as you use the threaded rod included with the shackles it is fine, just do not try to substitute 1/4-20 as there is a slight difference in the threads
