As the owner of 2 Spanish Barb horses, I enjoyed reading about their ancesters in the conquering of the Americas. These horses are fiercely loyal and affectionate. My horses are direct descendents of the Spanish conquistador horses proven by DNA testing. Their origin in North Africa,raised by the Berbers and conquering Spain is a fascinating history. The book is excellent.

If you are a history buff and a horse lover this book will open new doors for you regarding the horse coming to the Americas and how they impacted history with the conquistadores of Spain. A great read by a very knowledgeable horseman and historian.
