Q: Is this a quad core cpu or a dual core cpu, because on acer's website it says that its a dual core cpu and here its written 7700hq which has 4 cores?

The VX5-591G-75RM ships with the Intel Core i7-7700HQ which is a quad core processor. If you could provide the link where you saw something different, we can research that and correct if necessary.

Q: can i add hdd to it?(not ssd)

This model does have a 2.5" hdd bay but since this model does not ship with a 2.5" hdd, the screws and bracket/carrier are not included with the system. ***UPDATE 2/27/2017***: Acer is offering a kit to allow users to add a second hard drive to the VX 15 laptop. Q: This seems like a very nice system. is the screen ips?

The screen is IPS on all USA models, to my understanding. It seems to be the LG LP156WF6-SPK4, a 45% NTSC color gamut IPS panel. A lot better than a certain Dell's screen when it comes to contrast and viewing angles, but if you want better colors either for graphics work or just in general, I would pick an Eluktronics N850HK1 which uses a 72% NTSC color gamut IPS display. https://www.amazon.com/Eluktronics-N850HK1-Premium-Performance-Laptop/dp/B06X6BB9F7/I will also add: The Eluktronics FHD models are fantastic. But their 4K models use PenTile (RG/BW) not-true-4K screens (see http://reddit.com/r/SuggestALaptop/ sidebar). If you want 4K, buy the Dell Inspiron 7567 4K IPS model, full-stop, as it is currently the only true-4K 15.6" GTX 1050 Ti laptop. Can get it for under $1200 usually. If you don't want 4K, then just about any of the other popular choices will give you a better user experience with a not-terrible type of FHD screen. Really, unless you're going to replace the LCD yourself, don't buy the Dell Inspiron 7567 FHD models, and tell all your friends not to either. Low quality displays like that aren't normal in this price bracket, and they shouldn't be.
