I bought these specifically to destroy them
These are a cheaper alternative to he wicked cushions earpads for the Audeze Maxwell headset. I have both, the dimensions are pretty similar, the only big difference between them is the cloth that touches the side of your head. The wicked cushions have a more "sport cloth" style which is a bit courser but breathes a bit better which means almost nothing in reality when it's pressed up against you and the sides are non-breathing pleather. The cloth on these is smoother feeling but also feels a bit cheaper.I personally hate cooling gel ear pads, it feels nice for like an hour, then it equalizes in temperature and feels hotter than earpads without it. Maybe if the companies making this crap ventilated the outer sides of the pads so the gel could actually breathe it might regulate the temperature better and stay cooler longer. As it stands the only breathable surfaces of pretty much all cooling gel earpad products are the face which is pressed against your head and thus can't breath, or the inside is sometimes perforated which is also pointless for temperature regulating purposes because the air is contained inside the outer wall which isn't perforated.None of that really mattered to me, I bought these to destroy them and salvage the locking ring and use it with other earpads. Which I did. I currently have a pair of Beyerdynamic silver pads on my Audeze Maxwell. It's much better that way to me.

Better fit if you’ve bigger ears.
I found that the regular earpads on the Audeze Maxwell were creating a pressure point on the lower cartilage of my ear because the opening was just a tad too small for me.(I do have quite large ears to be fair)So I did what everyone seems to do and get a set of Wicked Cushions earpads…..(Exactly the same problem)I was contemplating sending the Maxwells back for a refund as I just couldn’t wear them for any length of time because of the pads. Then I became aware of these and gave them a go………Perfect.Pretty much allows my entire ear to sit inside of the cup and thick enough to keep it from touching the driver. 👍🏼👍🏼
