Perfect for what I need
I got these because of the grommets. I was easily able to hang them in our production studio dampening the sound very effectively. They have a funky smell at first. I put some febreze like spray on them, and that smell was gone. They're thick but not overly heavy. Perfect to mount on a wall. I'll add the besides grommets, they also have a loop you could use on a pole if you wanted to, to hang like a shower curtain.

Great Quality for the Price, Nice Product
I'm using this to cover two bookshelves in my music room and to help with a bit of sound absorption. I was very pleased with this product. I also purchased some blackout curtains and discovered I would have rathered purchased more of these for my window instead, as they are a bit thicker than my 3-layer curtains, and more sound-absorbing. I may eventually purchase a few more of these for myself and my school's recording studio. Great quality for the price. It's really nice having the grommets so these can be hung up if needed. I don't know why my photo is uploading sideways, sorry, I can't seem to fix it.

Perfect for What I Needed
I have used these blankets in two drum set applications now. First, I have a shed in my backyard that I built for my drum set. I hung a few of these blankets on the wall, and I'm not sure that it makes things drastically QUIETER, but they do make things sound 10x BETTER.After that project was complete, I had to build a drum shelter for my church's sanctuary. I stuffed some wood frames with rock wool insolation and covered it with these stylish blankets. Then, I use a blanket as an entrance curtain to the drum enclosure. I can tell that it really helps with the sound.I don't know where I'd be without these blankets!

Affordable way to add some sound dampening to your personal space
I've bought 8 of these. I was quite surprised how well this dampened and cut down the random noise pollution coming from the outside, as well as cut down on my roommate's noise from their room. It doesn't completely block out sound, but it definitely reduce noise to a level that's not bothersome anymore. I sleep well now in a quieter room. I took it further and used curtain rods to hang mine on my room walls double folded. I don't think hanging these up in an unfolded-one layer sheet would be effective enough. There was a very mild plastic packaging smell, but it's barely noticeable and have quickly aired out in a day or two. The stitching is ok, it's not sewn with the most durable stitching for moving blankets, but since I'm using these for noise dampening it's fine. It pretty much dampens sounds at most frequencies, beside the very hi frequency ranges of 8k+.... like car horns, sirens, whistles, etc. Otherwise, this is a cheap way to add extra sound dampening to one's personal space.

Great Noise And Light Cancellation
I have seen many people write reviews for this and they ALWAYS mention a “chemical” or “factory” smell. I can tell you that i did not encounter such a stench. This is a very well made blanket and it does dampen noise really well. I use it for my drums as to not annoy my neighbors and it works very well. It also BLOCKS ANY LIGHT. So if you want to use it as a blackout curtain, i very much recommend that.

Sturdy and perfect for sound dampening
I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews, that the blanket would have a strong chemical smell. Before it arrived, I had plans to hang it outside, spray it with Febreze, etc, to get the smell out. I literally and figuratively held my breath when opening the plastic in which it was wrapped for shipping. To my pleasant surprise, there was barely, if any, smell at all. The blanket is of sturdy construction and is just what I needed for sound dampening in my in-home recording studio.

They work, but smell horrible.
I bought two of these for acoustic reasons; they do seem to make a difference in attenuating some noisy things I have in a room. However, they smell HORRIBLE. Overwhelming, nausea-inducing chemical smell. They stunk up my whole apartment so I washed them twice in a commercial washing machine and then put them in the dryer (a lot of lint comes off, so be safe with the heat setting of the dryer). The document these come with says they are not washable. One of the blankets looks fine after the wash, and the other one has a small hole now and some threading came undone. They don't stink up my apartment anymore, however, so I don't regret washing them.If you have access to a heavy duty washing machine and don't mind roughing up the blankets to get the smell out, these are a good deal. Without washing them they are so smelly that they would be unusable for me.

Outstanding Noise Reducer!!!
I have the most rude, noisy neighbors on the planet. Every night is party night at their outdoor patio with at least 100 of their friends and family. They are a good 50-75 feet away however I can’t hear my own TV 10 feet away. I bought this blanket and it is the best money I ever spent!!! It fits perfectly in the window and sits on the curtain rod I already had in place. I wish I had found this sooner as it would have saved my blood pressure and sanity a long time ago.
