Garden Mile® Heavy Duty 1.5kg Wood Log Splitter Diamond Shaped 4 Sided Wood Splitting Wedge

As someone who lacks enough strength ‘to wield a full size axe to chop decent sized wood blocks this item really is functional. I use a hand hammer to get a hold for this chopping spike then use a long handled mallet to complete the chopping task. I found that starting straight off with the mallet difficult as the spike would veer in at an angle or not embed at all.When the spike embeds well and impact with the mallet is square and firm it splits large and knotted wood blocks.Always wear substantial footwear when using this as it or the split logs can move at a very fast pace.I am very glad that I have purchased this. Highly recommend.

This seems to do a good job but may take half a dozen hard blows with a 4llb club hammer to split some logs.. The logs in the photo are about 9" long and about 8" in diameter. Use a bit of common sense and wear gloves and safety glasses. Log bark takes a long time to catch fire. Splitting the logs helps them to catch fire easier as well as helping them to dry out. A worth while purchase and far easier than trying to split logs with an axe.

I liked it because it still provided some exercise and it is easy to use. I find that it helps to drill a small hole before using it. This tends to give more even splitting on bigger logs rather than just splitting a bit off. Overall it is by far the cheapest solution for someone like me who doesn't split a lot of logs and who at my age finds swinging a splitting axe a bit much.

The point was a bit blunt for starting the split but worked ok with moderate ( 18”” logs )In the end found an axe easier for most

I have been conned a few times buying in Amazon but this one is the winner by a long shotThey must laugh themselves to sleep at night with us buying this utter junk
