This is the most complete book I have read on the connection a rider makes with a horse through the seat. The principles are illustrated beautifully through drawings and photographs that demonstrate the principles being discussed. The beauty of the book makes it a pleasure to peruse.Even though the topic of the book is the seat, everything is connected. Examples are given for the goal one may want to achieve, as well as shortcomings and how to overcome them. The fit of the saddle and stirrups are factors in how well a rider sits and effects when they are off are discussed.The second half of the book gives exercises for developing fitness to ride as well as make corrections for common mistakes. I particularly appreciated the statement that not every exercise is appropriate for everyone. I've been taking Pilates to improve my riding and the exercises supplement my physical development and steer me toward some particular muscle groups to develop.While this book is directed toward the dressage rider, I believe the content is applicable to other disciplines.

I've been a fan of Anja's for a few years now. I bought this book for details on seat and then saw the "bonus" which are all the suggested exercises that helps a better posture and help avoid injuries

Excellent book. I really like her method of relating the subject matter.

Excellent book, her writing is clear and to the point. Many riding books are a bit vague but she gives clear detailed instructions, with little pictures and diagrams. I am very pleased with it. Her DVD 'Training the Eye' is highly recommended too.
