The best New Zealand Sphagnum moss I have used. Clean, easy to work with. My "go to"for many years.

When I decided I wanted to start incorporating moss poles into my plant care, I did a lot of research. I selected this moss based on recommendations from more experienced plant caregivers, and I am very glad I did. It’s top quality, and it’s really clean. Yes, there are a couple of small sticks here and there, but I easily pick them out and discard them. There is no odor with this moss, except a slight (and expected) plant-y fragrance that is very pleasant. I’ve dampened large quantities of it for pole building, and the unused moss dries out completely over time with no mold or odor. I feel like I lucked out because it’s the only moss I’ve ever used and it’s a great product. I’ve read so many bad things about poor quality moss. My first package was enough for the equivalent of 17 moss pole segments as well as additional non-pole stuff.

You can see the color difference between some other stuff I purchased on Amazon and this. This is higher quality for sure. Higher price also x 3. I will use this when packing tight and the other stuff when packing loose. I also filled 2 clear cups with the 2 qualities. This one felt spongier and bounced back easier. The lesser quality compressed easier and felt water logged. After I poured water into each as in the video I squeezed all the water out again. The lesser quality definitely compressed more than this high quality stuff. Buy this and only this for your orchids. It doesn’t compress this leaving room for air. Much better.
