Gripping twister!
I enjoyed reading this book, my mind working throughout as I attempted to identify the clues and red herrings liberally scattered. Nice to find an interesting finale that didn't feel contrived and was entirely appropriate for the rest of the story. Some may feel there are one or two inconsistencies, but perhaps the psychological nature of what is being dealt with can explain this thinking.Would certainly recommend to someone that enjoys a twisting tale!

Incredibly addictive!
Wow — this book was incredibly good! I finished it in two days because I just couldn’t stop reading. Every time I thought I had it figured out, another twist would hit and completely throw me off. I kept trying to guess what was really going on, but every chapter ends with just enough suspense to keep you saying “Okay, just one more...”The story is fast-paced, super suspenseful and honestly kind of addictive. If you love psychological thrillers with lots of jaw-dropping moments, this one’s a must-read.

The ending was frustrating
While I couldn’t put Never Lie down, the writing felt absurd. The narrative has undeniable pull, and I finished it in a day, but it ultimately collapses under scrutiny. The protagonist, revealed as the killer, acts in her own thoughts as if she’s unfamiliar with the house, the painting she gifted, and her husband’s past - despite knowing all of it.The red herrings are shoved down the reader’s throat, the writing is repetitive, and the “twist” isn’t a twist at all - it blatantly contradicts earlier parts of the story. These inconsistencies aren’t clever misdirection; they’re lazy writing. The author prioritizes shocking twists over logical storytelling, and the plot holes ruin the experience. I gave it three stars because it was engaging, and I enjoyed the short chapters and transcription format, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

I was absolutely hooked
I’ve always enjoyed Freida McFadden’s books and this is no exception. The creepy vibe begins as soon as Tricia and Ethan arrive at the house of the missing psychiatrist, and it only escalates throughout. The characters are described and developed amazingly to a point where you can sense twists coming but in no way guess what they may be.The only reason why I’ve missed one star is that I didn’t entirely connect with any of the characters, but then I think this was maybe intentional by the author.I’d definitely recommend this book!
