The stainless steel food dehydrator. A machine so perfect, so wonderfully efficient, that I’m considering starting a support group for people who’ve just realized they, too, need one. Let me begin with the exterior. Stainless steel. I’m not saying it’s better than every other material on Earth, but if the moon was made of stainless steel, I’d be packing my bags to colonize it. This dehydrator gleams like the promise of a perfect, crisp apple chip and honestly, I think it makes me look cooler when I use it. It’s like I’m the Gordon Ramsay of drying fruit, except with zero culinary skill. The sleek design complements any kitchen décor, and by "complement," I mean it dominates the space, subtly telling everyone that you are not just dehydrating food , you are dehydrating it with style. But here’s where things get truly mind-blowing: it works. I know, shocking, right? You'd think a machine this flawless couldn’t possibly live up to its reputation. But, oh my friends, it does. It dries food so evenly and efficiently that even the pickiest of fruits and vegetables have no choice but to submit. I’ve tried everything! Apples, bananas, mangoes, even the most stubborn blueberries and every single one of them emerged perfectly dehydrated, as though they’d just taken a little vacation to the desert. The grid metal inserts have small enough squares that you can use smaller pieces of food without using plastic inserts 7. your food is dehydrated "safer" with the stainless shelves that air out well because they have an open system rather than using the plastic ones (most popular brands offer in which the smell and chemicals can leach in your food!) 8. Non annoying alarm goes off once when done. 9. Easy cleanup, stick the shelves in the Micro Wave 10. Very Quiet

Wow!!!! So glad i took my time and did research as this has turned out to be a top of the line Dehydrator . The 12 trays have proved to provide plenty of capacity aprox 12" X 12" . The twin fans have proved to dry everything evenly you dont have to worry about rotating trays . The controls are simple to use . Easy Clean up. The trays fit nicely in a dishwasher! Very well built!!

All you have to do is put the door handle on and it comes with the screwdriver incase you don’t have one. It works well, quiet, easy to use, lots of space, not too heavy, the door stays where you put it and doesn’t close on you, timer alarm is loud which I’m glad for. I have used for green onions and garlic mostly. It’s my favorite dehydrator I’ve used.

This is my first dehydrator. I bought it because I found decent reviews of it on yo*tube, and because it is NOT plastic. I bought this unit 9 weeks ago, and have used it nearly daily since. I have dehyrated over 8 gallons of veggies, fruits, and meats in that time. I wish it had a meter to tell the user how many cumulative hours it has operated. I'm guessing it has over 800 hours of use. It is well made, and easy to clean. Setting the time and temperature is a snap. The metal shelves clean easily with a short soaking in warm water, including fruit residue that likes to stick. And of course it dehydrates anything placed in it eventually. The 'eventually' is the kicker. This unit does not heat evenly at all, and maybe none of them do. It heats unevenly top to bottom AND front to back. I have found the need to move the upper three shelves to the bottom, and the bottom three up, every three hours. And if you want to dehydrate overnight, that becomes a real pain. I also rotate the shelves front to back every three hours. All that does not quite do the trick, because some food that is supposed to be brittle is still leathery. So I need to inspect each piece of food and hold out the ones that are not dry. I find about 10 percent of what I'm dehydrating needs an extra 2 to 3 hours (say for carrot 'coins' that have already dehydrated 14 to 15 hours). And just maybe that is the standard for the industry for non-commercial dehydrators. But, I just wonder if a larger unit, with a larger heat element and two fans, would dehydrate more evenly. One other irritant about the machine. It was very quiet initially. Then I noticed a small noise increase at about 200 hours of use, and it appeared the fan shaft had a very slight wobble. Now it has developed a slight vibration, and is about three times noisier than when purchased. It won't wake the baby by any means, but now I hear it even when the refrigerator is running. And I think 'plastic might not vibrate'. Would I buy it again? Yes, unless I could invest $350 in a larger unit. It does what I bought it for. In a year of dehydrating I expect to have food for 2 for 2 years, fully dried, sealed in plastic, then stored in buckets with nitrogen in them, good for at least 5 years of storage. My guess is this unit will help me achieve that for significantly less money than buying freeze-dried food in foil.
