Love it
I have 3b-4a hip length (when straightened) hair that is coarse and very thick. I bought this just for a few reasons. One of them being, I wanted to stop scratching my scalp so much when washing my hair, because I was worried about damaging my scalp. I also wanted to help stimulate my scalp to encourage new growth, and make it easier on my fingertips each wash day. I always try to get my scalp as clean as possible so my protective styles or wash and gos can last as long as possible. I also exercise 5 days a week so having a clean scalp is essential for me to not be miserable throughout the week. ...I was worried that I would regret not buying an expensive shampoo brush. Girl, no. I just bought another one for my teenage daughters. I love this thing. I did not have a problem reaching my scalp through my hair at all which was my concern with how thick my hair is. Right away it did not touch my scalp when I pressed it to my wet hair, but I would use circular motions to lather my shampoo or work in my co-wash then run it in a downward motion down my scalp, then repeat all over my head. It did not tangle or create knots, and I found the stiffness of the bristles to be perfect. I didn't want them to feel too soft and feel like I was ineffectively cleansing my scalp. I used to try and massage my head with my denman brush but the bristles were too small and it felt too much like scratching, but this is perfect. I have used it VERY gently on my 3 year old and she likes it as well. My teenagars have straight hair but dandruff issues, but I think they will enjoy this. IMHO if you enjoy getting your scalp rubbed and massaged and you like to get all up in there, try this. I want to stock up my closet with these. Update 11/20/18 I still absolutely love this product. I use it every week when I wash my hair and then I leave it in my shower window until next week. It has yet to show any signs of mold or mildew, in fact it still looks brand spankin new. I have found over the past year that the easiest way to use this is to rub my scalp in up and down motions all over my scalp, one section at a time. To get the thickest parts of my hair, I part my hair down the middle and then work my way from the part line to my ears, in up and down motions. My scalp feels so clean without feeling stripped. I use this with Shea Moisture Low Porosity Shampoo and it feels tingly. This is my favorite part of wash day.

Best scalp brush ever
Firstly- I purchased this brush in 2019. It JUST broke, and only because one of my kids threw it. Since I immediately came back to this page to buy another one, I figured I should leave a review. As someone with long, curly hair that frequently has scalp buildup, this scalp scrubber is a requirement in my hair care routine. The flat, oblong shape of the bristles is key to why it works so well at removing buildup. Think of your scalp like a pan, and the flat bristle is a spatula. Now imagine trying to scrape a pan with a chopstick, which is the shape of the bristles of most scalp scrubbers on the market- totally ineffective, except maybe to stimulate the skin, and push around some product. The key is not to use it in a circular pattern, but to push it left-right, back and forth, one section at a time, lifting and moving from section to section. This way you will be using the bristles in their most effective “spatula” like way, while avoiding the tangles that are created by a circular motion. (One final recommendation- I use this scrubber with the As I Am ‘Dry and Itchy’ co-wash, and it’s a miracle duo for eliminating dandruff and build up without drying out your hair and scalp, especially in the winter months. Hope this helps someone out there!)

not for me
for really short hair, military style cuts, etc. this thing is probably great but, for somewhat fine shoulder length and beyond hair, this thing stinks, the silicone/rubber just keeps a grabbing your hair and snagging it no matter how you use it. and as for helping exfoliate scalp, hard to do when it just wants to grab & bunch up your hair as soon as you start moving it on your scalp.. Now even though this does not work for me, it is not a cheap looking scalp brush, looks well made, felt good in my smaller hands and worked/glided well on my husband's scalp when i tried it on him, so i still give it 4 stars for that but, i personally will go back to using the oceanpure scalp massagers that may not look as nice but, it is a better choice for my hair & dry psoriasis scalp needs and works great but, i bought this zyllion anyways thinking wider and softer bristles would be better, i was wrong.

Needs a better handle, not one piece get moldy
It'd be nice if the handle could come all the way down instead of stopping 2/3 of the way. It's not a big deal but it'd mean fewer hand transitions. The product worked great, it got rid of my dandruff and leaves my head super clean. I have a buzzcut and often wear beanies so this product was perfect for me. I didn't realize the tips at the end were coated. My tips turned yellow after about a year and as another reviewer mentioned it's likely that the tips are plastic and not silicone. Because of the plastic tips breaking down, the scrub slowly becomes less effective over time. Lastly the mold. If you look at the product, the white brush handle is made of hard plastic, then there are two other pieces, the silicone-brush part, and a plastic mold for the brush to hold the silicone-brush. It is not all one single piece. In fact between the silicone brush and white plastic handle, there is a hollow space. After about a year and a half, my srub became smelly. I opened the brush up by pressing down hard on it to pop it out to find that water had been trapped inside the brush and there was some mold growing. I'm upset that the sellers don't mention you can open it up, otherwise, I would've just cleaned it every month or so. Instead, the molding that holds the handle to the brush smelled so bad I threw the whole thing away. Also, dirt can accumulate under the brush and between the molding (at the base of the brush you see a gap/hole where the bristles stick out). Again I assumed the whole thing was one piece and there was nothing underneath the brush. I would have cleaned it if I just knew.

Very friendly usable.
I like this shampoo scalp massage brush a lot. This brush is made from a very durable silicone. I use it on my scalp and have never experience any hair tangling from it. This brush leaves my scalp feeling so clean and fresh. Cleaning the massage brush is very easy. I clean mine with soap and alcohol to top it off. I am black american. My thinned out side burns have never grown out like this before and my hair have never grown this fast, although I don't believe it is the massage brush alone. I only use it during most of my hair washes depending upon my time but i do believe it is a huge part in stimulating my hair follicles and growth along with the combination of some of my oils and other uses. Peppermint oil /tea tree oil /pure coconut oil and castor oil with added glycerin along with my biotin dissolve/lozenges pills and with other uses during shampooing. The most powerful tool of all have been applying scripture out load and prayer over my hair. 1 Corinthians 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering. A women's hair is her glory. That is most of what i do in my hair regimen and again it's growing unbelievably. The price is absolutely unbeatable any questions about the product or my hair regimen please feel free to submit a comment and i will gladly answer you back. I hope you found this review helpful if so let me know. I most certainly recommend this product. Thanks =)

Uncomfortable experience with no benefits
Using this "brush" has been unpleasant, pointless and disappointing. I had never used a shampoo brush before so reading through the reviews became excited at the prospect of having a head massage every morning in the shower. Lord knows I love head massages and who doesn't want scalp exfoliation and more efficient shampoo usage. Boy was I wrong. Moments into first use strike one happened when it became tangled in my short fairly straight hair. Issue is that the bristles (wide chunks of soft plastic) are too wide to move through hair comfortably or open up the hair in order to evenly spread shampoo. I sighed and continued, rationalizing that even if not good for spreading shampoo can still exfoliate and clean top of my head. Soon I awakened to the realization that the plastic bristles were not only wide but thick, meaning that as I moved across my head the hunks of rubbery plastic just sat on surface of scalp unable to scrub away anything. Even pressing hard all the bristles could muster was to bend and slide across. Strike two. Didn't have to wait long for strike three. I purchased the brush with main purpose of a head massage during my morning shower, exfoliation and shampoo nice but i could live without them and still be satisfied. Unfortunately yet again Zyllion disappointed. It's just plain uncomfortable, the few points of contact slowly drag across head with little to no pressure, you have limited ability to go in direction of your choice without tangling, and overall is very small, only touching very small part of head at a time. Three strikes within 1 minute of use. I hoped i had just had a bad experience so tried again with different shampoo and conditioner and had the same results. If you value your hair or your head I implore to treat your scalp better and not purchase this incredibly unpleasant product.

Removes dandruff and dander
Ok, so I'm a little odd in that I don't use shampoo. I have really porous, fragile hair (biracial) which either can't get enough from aftercare products and gets frizzled and damaged, or gets too much from them and gets weighed down. So I just rinse in my bath, then condition, then rinse again. It's worked out great, and my hair is way more shiny and healthy than it's ever been. There's just one small issue though. I often forget to scrub with my nails well enough to work out dandruff and dander. And of course, it shows up in my dark roots. This seemed to be the perfect solution for that. And it has indeed been that solution! The bristles are a flexible silicone which gets down to my scalp with more ease than my fingers ever did, despite how thick my hair is. It not only helps get rid of dandruff and dander, but it also creates a wonderful massaging sensation that is similar to getting your hair washed at a salon. It's also very easy to grip. There's a hole to put some string through to hang it up, but there's no string, so storage might be an issue if you have no shelving in your bath/ shower. Otherwise it's a wonderful tool for getting rid of dandruff and dander, and stimulating the scalp.
