Superficial and a tad irritating in places
A little superficial I feel in its content.A tad irritating that the author repeatedly lets us know that she is from middle class stock and from London, and lives in London, works in London, socialises in London and only rarely leaves London …As an ex-Londoner I am now very aware how irritating a London centric theme can be but, in a book questioning what normal is may be this is a normal trait of someone existing in … London .. 🤣

Should be titled Me Me Me.
A book that challenges the view of how we think of normal, concluding;"The idea that some majority group exists that personifies the so called normal is an illusion. "My own beliefs are, for example that;1. Normally, French people speak French.2 Normally, Bricklayers are men.3. Normally, Eskimos live in cold climates.I still hold these beliefs. I found the book full of personal anecdotes that somehow tries to string together a scientific/methodological argument, challenging scientific beliefs.

Fascinating, eye-opening read
Loved this - will change how you think about what's normal, and why we're so hung up on it
