Smooth feel and sound
I got these for practicing my jazz brushes technique. I'd never used nylon brushes before--always wire. These are definitely a step up. They sound smooth, they move smoothly across the drumhead, and unlike wire brushes they don't kink!

Very good for nylon brushes
This is a review for nylon brushes. Wire brushes are a different animal, with a lighter, crisper sound. Both have their place - just don't buy nylon expecting them to sound like wire. I mean, a trumpet player doesn't buy a cup-mute expecting it to sound like a straight-mute.I got these nylon brushes for a beginner, because I think it's time for her to start learning how to use brushes, and wire is more easily damaged than nylon so I went with nylon. At this price point I was expecting beginner quality but her instructor corrected me, explaining that he uses wire for "nuance" and nylon when he needs a bigger sound. And he assured me that ProMark is a solid brand. These brushes look and feel like they will last for years, giving our budding musician time to develop her own opinions about the gear she wants.

Lighter and thinner nylon brushes. Good for smaller venues
Ordered these to see how they'd sound for some smaller gigs. They are a lot lighter and thinner to use than most of the other nylon brushes I've picked up. These have a really nice feel to them and the quality seems to also be there. Used them on on my cardboard "practice pad" and they felt good. Specifically compared to other nylon brushes, these are more flexible and I get a nicer flat slap from them. They move quick, but definitely have a lighter touch.Comparing these to most of the wire brushes I play with, these still don't have as nice an attack on the heads and cymbals as I'd like. I also still don't like how nylon brushes retract/extend and these are the same as most others. They don't have a metal ring/loop on the backside of the brushes for getting more sounds out of the kit/cymbals. Even being a lighter nylon brush, they still aren't as "springy" to me as my go-to wire brushes are which could also be considered "light" for brushes. Because these are nylon and not wire, these are also probably not going to get beat every which way if they get left in a practice room or if a student borrows them.Overall, these are good feeling and good sounding brushes that seem well made.

A Bit Light but Sound Great
First of all, I love how these sticks look. The whole yellow-and-black look is amazing. On top of it, these nylon brush drumsticks are pretty well made. They seem to be free of any kind of bends, breaks, or other defects. The plastic handle is strong and holds everything together very well. It is easy to slide the brushes in and out without any deformation. They work very well for quieter gigs.I sincerely hope that you will find this review helpful.
