Yes. It would be perfect for that. My favorite thing to use this chipotle powder for is to add 1/2tsp into the cheese packet when making Kraft mac & cheese. Spices it up.

A good resource for the cook with limited time

A good resource for the cook with limited time, this product is quite spicy. To try out the product, I made a black bean soup using a cup of dry beans that had been soaked overnight, a diced and sauteed large onion, and a teaspoon of the spice which are cooked in 4 cups of water for 40 minute and then finished with another 4 cups of water, a diced sweet potato and 2 cupes of frozen corn which are cooked for 10 to 15 min. This ended up with a soup that was modestly spicy. Certainly, deploying individual spices and chipotle may have been better but not easier.

This product is precisely what they say it is. Do you want some? Is the price fair? Is it an appropriate quantity/amount for you? Good. Buy it. Nothing special about it, though. Which you inferred from it being a basic pantry staple.
