I used this product as a dummy monitor so I can stream games from my PC to Nvidia Shield to play on my TV. I have an ultrawide monitor and was never able to get the correct aspect ratios when game streaming, so I can use this little device to trick the PC into using a different resolution.

This little gadget has been great for streaming games from my PC to the living room using Sunshine/Moonlight Software. Running a permanently "headless" Windows setup can be a hassle, but this dummy plug has allowed me to stay out of the home office during the weekend when I want to game.

This device allows you to take advantage of Quick Sync with your Intel UHD 630 or 750 IGP for a better end result with lower power usage. Your discrete display adapter is freed up for gaming or design. My UHD630 and i7-9700K with 32 gigs of RAM exceed the transcoding capacity of my Radeon RX580.Plug in and reboot. In Windows, go to Settings > Display. Set Multiple Displays to to "only show on 1/2". Now click Graphics. Find your transcoding applications either on the list or by adding a "classic" or "desktop" app and browsing to its .exe file. In the case of Plex, you will want both Plex Media Server.exe and Plex Transcoder.exe. Depending on your operating system, select the "power saving" designation or the specific display adapter. Fire up a transcode and watch the activity in Task Manager > Performance to confirm.
