Great vacuum
I really like this vacuum. It picks up and holds a lot. It is light weight and easy to use. Easy to empty the canister. It also does get most of the fur off the furniture. Good suction, keeps picking up even after using for over 10 minutes. Worth the price, but I did wait for it to be on sale, lol. The retractable cord is the best too! That was a deciding factor when I bought it. I very much dislike having to wind a long cord after vacuuming, and with this vacuum I just hold the button and the cord is tucked in. Strong suction, it catches all the dust bunnies. With an easy release handle/wand to get any dust or spider webs up high. I'm happy with this purchase!

Great for long pet hair.
I bought a Shark upright vacuum that had Pet in the name. Not sure what pets they tested it on but I'm guessing like turtles and snakes because my dogs hair instantly wrapped itself around the roller brush from end to end like it was designed to do that. Couldn't even finish one use before I had to cut the hair off and literally comb it out of each and every brush tuft on the roller. Back it went! I searched smeo more and read the descriptions and reviews a little more carefully and decided on this Bissel. It was $100 more than the Shark but was designed specifically to not wrap hair around the roller so I bought it. Very nice vacuum. It's very well built and everything has a nice quality feel to it. The canister pops off easily and empties easily without having to reach in and pull stuff out. The hose wand also pops on and off easily with the push of a button and the mechanism that holds the wand in place is sturdy which is important with these type of designs as the wand is also the handle so it takes a lot of abuse when using and lifting it and carrying it around. And speaking of carrying it. It's a high quality vacuum but that quality makes it heavy. It can be pretty tiring on stairs. It has great maneuverability as it swivels and seems to have pretty good suction. Gets a lot of really fine dirt out of my carpets that my old vacuum seemed to be missing. And I'm happy to say. Not a bit of dog hair on the roller brush. It all ends up in the canister and it does a good job of getting it off the carpet. Although with long pet hair getting it up is not the issue. Getting it through the vacuum without catching and wrapping on anything and everything is the issue and this vacuum handles it very well. It has a nice head light that works pretty well. The turbo brush tool is the only one I've used so far that actually works and keeps the little brush spinning as you use it. Most stall out if you put even the lightest pressure on them. This one you can use with normal pressure and it just works. The other brush tool has some funky course bristles that make it more like a scrubber and less like a brush. The crevice tool has an LED light in the end that comes on when you attach it. Kind of cool but it has a battery in it that takes up about half the diameter of the tube so this cuts down on the flow. So they made the suction end smaller to match. It works but I'd rather had a normal crevice tool. Also the battery inside the tube means it only fits on it's storage post in one direction so it's fiddly to put away until you remember which direction it has to face. More gimmick than useful. The auto cord retract is nice. This is my vacuum for my man cave area but my wife always steals my vacuums since the rest of the house is central vac and she doesn't always feel like hauling out the big hose and stuff. Fine with me but she NEVER winds the cord back up...or returns it for that mater. I usually find it somewhere in the house with the cord draped over it in tangles. At least with this one so far she pushes the button and lets the cord put itself away...but I still have to go and find it. If you can live with the weight and need a vacuum that can handle long pet hair this is a good choice. It works as advertised is very well built and hopefully that quality will give it a long life worth the price.

You must clean and take care of it but it really cleans great
This definitely picks up pet hair and does a fantastic job. I love it but... You need to clean it often. Not just the filter parts. The brush stopped today because there was a clump of hair and dust clogging it. Kudos for stopping and not catching fire or burning out. I have Great Danes so not a ton of hair that's long and difficult for a vacuum. I've washed the canister parts and filters every other full vacuum. Say 3-4 times emptying a session, it's a big place. (The canister is small so needs to be emptied often.) So if you're aware it needs cleaning and care, making sure everything is clear, it's fantastic at vacuuming. Great suction and really pulls the debris out of the carpet. Probably suitable for a smaller bit of carpet instead of the 900 sq ft and two huge dogs that I'm dealing with. I'd love one with a bigger canister and tolerance. I've had it for 8 months.

A great vacuum at the right price
I currently have a dyson v10 animal that I got for my grandma and myself with our 2 cats. During long cleaning sessions the vaccume would run out of battery and my grandma's dyson DC 14 is too old in age. I went with a shark Navigator didnt work with the cat hair. Went with another shark the shark lift away with power fins I liked the construction but didnt agitate our large area rug enough to dig into the pet hair. Then got a dyson animal ball 3 too heavy and too much suction for my grandma to push when she needed to vaccume. Ultimately set on this the bissell I love the stronger motor but what I love is the solid construction for the price ease of use and pet tools. I love the ability for me to provide maintenance on it without having to take it to a dedicated shop. Carpet agitation and ability to pick up cat hair is amazing. The suction on our hardwood floors could be better but this vacuum on rugs is absolutely amazing. The power in my opinion is kore then enough. I would recommend this product howver evyone has there personal preference.

"Meh, it works alright" - Poor Ergonomics and POOR Design/Build Quality
Shortcomings/complaints: The hose is waaay too short/taught, and the center of balance seems off- like it's top heavy somehow. Almost every time I try to use the hose, even for stuff within arm's reach of the vacuum, the slightest tension on the hose pulls the whole machine over. The vacuum being detachable from the head is advertised as a feature when in reality it's pretty much a requirement any time you want to use the hose. I find this awful on my back, and it could have been much better had they given the hose a just a little more length. Maintenance is alright, except for the brush rollers- Any time something gets caught in the rollers you have to take the vacuum head apart with a screw driver and remove something like 5 or 6 small screws- having to do this multiple times in the same cleaning session is a huge time sink. Small random stuff (like tiny candy wrappers) that shouldn't be an issue to vacuum end up jamming the roller, adding to the frustration. I sucked up a bobby pin on accident and it ended up cracking the plastic housing that a screw on the head mounts into, and now it makes a horrible grinding and rattling sound any time the brush is turned on. I've sucked up hundreds of bobby pins with a dozen different vacuums, and all those survived just fine, but the first one this one tasted took it out. Good stuff: The tank is easy to empty, and the filters are easy to clean and replace, which is a plus. The lights on the vacuum head help you see all the little bits that you might not see otherwise, which is a feature I greatly appreciate. Conclusion: It's an okay vacuum, but has some glaring issues that will have me looking elsewhere when the time comes to replace it- which I feel is going to be much sooner than I would have hoped for how much this machine costs (not satisfied with the value for money). EDIT Hose randomly tore open at the base, making the whole unit completely useless after less than one year. Worst investment in a vacuum I've ever made.

It Sucks - and That's Fantastic! 5/5 Stars
Ever played a game of "Find the Hidden Pet Hair"? No? Well, with the BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Rewind Vacuum, you won't have to. This vacuum doesn't just suck; it's a veritable black hole for pet fur and dust! After a long-term relationship with my previous Bissell vacuum (5 years of ups and downs), it was time to move on. My old pal was struggling, especially with the hairball challenges posed by my Five-year-old Lab. Cue the Bissell Lift-Off Pet. It's like the vacuum equivalent of a superhero - but for pet hair. The assembly was a breeze, everything just snapped together like Lego bricks. The first test run in the living room was a revelation. It was lighter, glided smoother, and was quieter than my old model. The swivel feature felt like switching from a flip phone to a smartphone - a bit odd at first but amazing once you get the hang of it. Halfway through the living room, I had to empty the canister - a testament to its pet hair annihilating abilities (and maybe a hint that my dog sheds like it's her job). The canister was easier to empty than solving a 2-piece puzzle. Next up: the bedroom and hallway. The amount of hair and dust it picked up AFTER I had vacuumed with the old one was both impressive and slightly horrifying. I wondered if my old vacuum was just an elaborate floor brush. Using the Pet TurboEraser and lift-off feature on the couch was like a magic trick. Now you see the hair, now you don't! Some might grumble about the cord length or its base placement, but honestly, it's a small price to pay for a living room that doesn't double as a fur coat factory. Over a few weeks, this vacuum continued to impress. The clear dust bin is like a window into a world of dust and hair you never knew existed in your home. Yes, the filters take their sweet time to dry, and finding replacements felt like a quest for the Holy Grail, but once you're stocked, you're golden. The vacuum swivels like it's auditioning for Dancing with the Stars, though it does have a beefier profile than my old Hoover. Not a big deal unless you're trying to vacuum under low furniture or around certain tricky spots. And it's a bit top-heavy, so storing it is like playing a mild version of Jenga. But hey, no vacuum is perfect, and this one's a gem where it counts. It's like having a ghostbuster for pet hair - it finds and eliminates it with gusto. Overall, the BISSELL Lift-Off Pet is a game-changer for pet owners. It might not make your pet shed any less, but it'll make you care a lot less about the shedding. A solid 5/5 stars for turning a hairy situation into a hairless solution!

An excellent vacuum!
This vacuum really pulls up the dirt and the pet hair in our carpets. It does a great job on hard floors, too. Easy to handle. No tangles from pet or human hair.

Did not meet expectations.
Quality is good. Works well on carpet, adequate suction, attachments are handy and work well. The rollers are hard and lack bristles to adequately pick up dust and debris. The unit is heavy and tips easily. I don’t recommend for hard floors.
