My take - you decide.
The cover per se is quite alright. The dimensions are made to fit the passport. In fact, it's a snug fit. And that's where the problem is. In all airports for your passport clearance, they'll remove the cover before they can run the passport over their scanner for the digits. Now imagine if you are frequent flyer, how many times this removing and putting the case happens and how it is affecting your passport. However, when you keep your passport in your pouch or in your carrybag, this additional cover might keep your passport safe and might provide an additional cushion to having it crushed or squashed and also it's easy to spot (especially this pink color!). My suggestion for those looking for a passport cover, go for those where you insert just one side, so it'll be easier to remove the passport for clearance and also will help in providing additional cover at other times.
