Power Pikster - Brings Sonic Powered interdental Cleaning to Your Piksters Interdental Brush

I am SO PLEASED with this product. I started using interdental brushes a few months ago, after a couple “bad” checkups despite regular brushing and daily flossing. The hygienist suggested trying interdental brushes and provided a sample brush (NOT Pikster). I found it very difficult to use; I also found that the wire became weak and bent after only a few uses. I checked into some other brands and eventually discovered Piksters. Any interdental brush wire is going to wear out; that is just the nature of the design, but I have found Piksters to be the best. I can usually use a Pikster brush for a good one to two weeks before the wire fails.Because I was so pleased with the brushes, I decided to give the Power Pikster a try. I like it very much and definitely recommend it. Be aware that there is a learning curve. For the first week or two, I had to allow extra time in the morning as I learned to use this tool, but now it is a quick and easy part of my morning routine. The vibration definitely makes the brush more effective and easier to insert between teeth (at least in my experience). It is easy to put the brushes into the handle and it is easy to recharge the Power Pikster, using the USB cable supplied. I use it with the Piksters’ Kinks brushes for my back teeth and their straight brushes for the front.I must acknowledge that there is a problem using the smallest brushes (size 1 and below) with the Power Pikster. The small brushes are easy to insert, but unfortunately they also easily pull out of the handle. Again, this ONLY happens with the very small brushes, so will only affect those who, like me, have some very tight spaces between teeth. I contacted the Piksters company to ask about this, and received a quick, friendly, and helpful response. They are aware of the problem and are working on an adaptor to use with the small brushes. I do not know whether the adaptor will be offered on Amazon, but it may be, if enough people express interest. They were kind enough to send me two adaptors to try, and both work BEAUTIFULLY. I have not had a single brush pull out of the handle when using an adaptor.Even with the issue with the smallest brush sizes (which the company is already addressing), I heartily recommend both the Power Pikster and Pikster interdental brushes.

The media could not be loaded. Totally defective- no power. Missed return window so going in the trash. Not much more to say.

Using this makes me think I am doing my teeth a favor when it's in use.

Plastic head broke after six months of use. Do not use with bamboo piksters: they only kind of fit and the extra length makes it unwieldy and may damage the head of the power pikster in multiple ways.

Mine arrived yesterday and I've already ordered two move (one for my travel bag and one for my desk at work). I love this thing so much! As someone who has endured bone loss and gum disease, major reparative surgery, and now visits every 3mos to ensure I am maintaining what is left, this will be a huge help! I already use a WaterPik and Sonicare toothbrush. Those are great but this get IN the crevices and makes my mouth feel SO clean and fresh. My husband already thinks I have developed an addiction (and he might be correct on that.. but I'll proudly own that!)

I had high hopes, but the Piks do not fit securely; I would expect better engineering for $30. I ended up wrapping some tape around the Pik before sticking it in the gizmo, which works to hold it in place, but I don't carry a roll of tape with me when I'm on the road. When the Pik is secure, the unit works pretty well.

It makes flossing much more fun. I assume it will be a great dental aid. Will see after my next dental appointment.

I haven't owned this very long, and used it only a handful of times, but it is already broken. Understand that there is very little to do with this device other than turn it off and on, and insert and remove the Pikster brush. Yet, the cap uses a locking system to connect it to the main handle and without cause, the cheap plastic insert broke so now there is now way for the cap to stay attached to the main body rendering the device useless. For the cost I really can't recommend this device. Having the battery operated vibrate function really is pretty much a waste of time. To get serious cleaning you still need to manually move the brush in and out of the pockets. On the flip side of that, having a handle to grasp ahold of does make using the Pikster brushes much easier to clean with. I recommend looking for a less costly alternative.
