We bought this 1/2" black hardware cloth to build a chicken hoop coop, and it worked out perfectly! My husband and I built the structure ourselves, and this mesh was just what we needed. It’s sturdy and high quality, with a nice black vinyl coating that gives it a clean, finished look—so much better than the silver stuff for appearance.It was easy to cut and shape, but still strong enough to keep predators out. We feel confident that our chickens are well-protected. It also lays flat nicely and attached well to our wooden frame without curling or fighting us.I’m super happy with how the project turned out—this hardware cloth made a huge difference in both safety and appearance. Highly recommend it for anyone building a chicken coop, garden enclosure, or even fencing for small animals!

I absolutely LOVE this product, black coated hardware cloth is now all I buy. It is very durable and doesn't corrode like the plain metal ones do. I have a wide variety of predators trying to access my chickens, mainly raccoons, and this stuff holds up. It is more expensive but the quality and durability make it worth it, plus the black color makes it almost transparent at times where I can easily look down at my coops (urban homesteader) and see inside without having to walk down there. Due to the price, I have not tried burying this and utilize the more cost effective plain galvanized steel versions since its underground and not seen. Great product. I recommend this to all my friends and on my blog.

Great product.I use this for the garden to keep pests out and use it for a chicken coop skirt to keep predators from digging in. I use a pneumatic staple gun to attach it to the base of the coop qand overlap the corners. Grass will then grow through it or you can bury it.It cuts well with wire snips and is a sturdy product.I purchased this 2 more times.I think this is a great product and worth the money

Easy to cut, looks high end, smaller weave keeps predators out. We built a chicken coop this summer and I’m so glad we choose this hardware cloth!The black is next level! It makes it easy to see the chickens and takes away the shine. It seriously is sooo good!I’d say I will repurchase again but I know I won’t have to because of how well it is made. Definitely made to last!

Used to armor porch screens against attacking squirrels. Seems to work well. The vinyl coating flakes off a little easier than I like, but otherwise OK.

Love this stuff. To me, it's so much easier than working with non coated galv wire - which often leaves me pretty cut up. This stuff, not so much, and I find it unrolls easier and more importantly, it doesn't have the MEMORY that straight wire has. It'll stay flat right off the roll, as I staple to install on my wood frame. Used this for a bomb proof chicken coup set up. Super happy with it, as the black also looks nicer than the metal (which I usually would have to paint to tone down a bit).

Quality of the screen and in my case a black coating was perfect for my application. Took a metal dog playpen and wrapped with this cloth-wire for my veggie garden-around metal dog fence. Worked perfectly and economically for the long run being both coated metal. Also Like the addition of the gloves to not rip up my hands as a side benefit.
