It's plasticine. Did the job I wanted it for.

Fine pasticine but a little stiff / unmaleable. Warming it up gently works well to soften it.

Considering the many good reviews for this products I think I must have received a duff pack. Hard, dry, crumbly and impossible to use even after spending 15 minutes of attempting to get it pliable. Any suggestions?

Das Produkt entspricht genau der Beschreibung. Wie beschrieben muss man es vorher mit etwas Kraft weicher kneten. Dann lässt es sich gut formen und klebt genau so, dass man verschiedene Teile aneinander setzen aber auch problemlos wieder voneinander trennen kann. Die schlechten Bewertungen hier beruhen auf der Annahme, Knete für Kinder gekauft zu haben. Wenn man dies möchte, sollte man vielleicht nach "Kinderknete" suchen. Dieses Produkt heißt ausdrücklich Plasticine (engl. für Plastilin) und besitzt auch dementsprechende Eigenschaften.

We used it to make models of personalised heart shaped soap as wedding favours, which we then used to make a silicon mold, from which to make the soaps. Does that make sense? It worked perfectly, and the modelling clay is still good for as many uses as we need.
