For normal paint stripping, especially for thick layers of oil-based paint, this is the best stripper I have found and I have been using it for years. It does not work quite so readily on varnish applied directly to bare wood, especially soft woods, but they absorb the varnish more readily so you ould expect that. You will never get back to the bare wood wiithout sanding. However, it all depends on your project and the sort of varnish originally applied. I find some varnishes I cannot get rid of actually seal the soft wood so I can get a lovely soft, rustic finish that I like, and the varnish residue helps a lot when applying wax for a natural-looking finish.

It didn't remove the paint like it used to and the cheaper paint strippers did slightly better.

This is a very good paint stripper. Using it to restore old internal doors in house. It was recommended by my friends. Having tried Bartoline and Rustins. This removed layers of old varnish/paint without leaving a sticky residue. It does smell and use precautions as can burn skin easily. Only down side this supplier didn't package my 750ml and the tin was bashed.

I've already written a review of their other similar product. Hence to say this also works superbly. This product came top in a poll of the 5 best products for paint removal! How could i refuse! They weren't wrong!!
