Farid Mohamadi’s introduction to Project Finance in Renewable Energy Infrastructure offers a thorough primer on the essentials of project finance, particularly as it applies to renewable energy infrastructure. It is a well-structured and accessible resource that effectively bridges the gap between theory and practice, making it highly useful for professionals in the renewable energy sector, whether they are seasoned developers or technical specialists looking to expand their knowledge of project finance. The book covers the key stages of project development, including stakeholder roles, fundraising, due diligence, risk analysis, and financial close. The use of real-world examples and clear diagrams helps to demystify complex processes, making it easier to grasp how structured finance operates in large-scale renewable projects. Notably, it provides a solid understanding of both private and public-private partnerships (PPP), with detailed explanations of portfolio management and the emerging role of climate finance. What sets this book apart is its accessibility. While it doesn’t dive deeply into the technical engineering details of renewable energy projects, it provides a comprehensive overview of the business and financial aspects, making it ideal for project developers and technical professionals alike. Its glossary, which unpacks the often-intimidating jargon of project finance, is a particularly valuable feature for those new to the field. In summary, Introduction to Project Finance in Renewable Energy Infrastructure is an excellent resource for those involved in developing renewable energy projects, particularly those transitioning into project finance. It strikes a good balance between clarity and depth, making it an essential addition to any renewable energy professional’s library.

What an excellently put together piece of work. Clearly written in accessible language without shying away from the complexity and detail. I'm a consultant in the RE sector of 5+ years, and now working more on project development finance - this is staying by my desk! Farid also put together a superb blend of diagramatic explanations making the structure of project finance very clear. Well worth it.
