Definitely helps with Migraines
I bought this cap to help with migraines. A cold cloth or ice pack when you have a migraine can offer some relief but they either don't get cold enough or stay cold long enough. I found this item during a search for an alternative and after reading the reviews decided to give this a go. After using this cap with several migraines I have mostly wonderful things to say about it and only a few minor negatives. Pros: This thing gets cold and I mean freezing cold and it will stay cold for at least an hour. When I go to bed with a migraine, this thing is cold long enough for me to go to sleep. The cap is also a snug fit which is a great bonus because the tightness of the cap applies pressure which when combined with the cold is a winning combo! The cap is sectioned out in squares and inside each square is an ice cube which can be moved or pushed to the area that is hurting. The ice cubes are hard but not so hard that you can't lay down on them. I can use this cap sitting in a chair or sleeping in bed and I never have to fear it will fall off! Cons: The cap will probably freeze your eyeballs! No matter how you put the cap on, there is always an ice cube close to your eyes. If you headache is coming from your eyes then this is a good thing but if you are experiencing pain from another part of your head, then your eyes are going to hurt from the cold. Also, the square sections of the cap are too large (in my opinion). The cubes can only be moved around within their square and this means that when you put the cap on, that you might not be able to get a cube to actually sit on or be near your source of pain. I actually had this happen a few times. I think the squares should be smaller which would allow for more ice which in turn would provide for more coverage. I considered these Cons to be minor because I was able to come up with a solution for both cons. For the ice not getting to the right area, I found that I could turn my cap sideways or put it on halfway and that would put a square in the right place. The cap is designed to go on one way so it can be a little uncomfortable when you have to wear it off center but not as uncomfortable as a migraine. My favorite solution was for the eyeball freezing part. which required the use of a sleeping mask that I had bought on Amazon but didn't really like. The sleeping mask that I bought had claimed to have a Velcro band to help keep it secure at night but when I got it, there was no Velcro - it was just an elastic band which means it would slip off each and every night and I ended up throwing that sleeping mask in a drawer. That is until I got this cap. What I do is place the sleeping mask on my face and then place the cap over it. This had 3 positive side affects. The first was that the sleeping mask created a barrier between the cap and my eyes. I can still feel the coolness but its not so cold as to hurt my eyes anymore. The second was that the combination of the sleeping mask and the cap created a complete blackout from any and all light. As anyone who has ever suffered from a migraine knows - light is pain! And the third benefit is the cap is tighter on my head when I am wearing the sleeping mask which means it creates more pressure and pressure is relief where a migraine is concerned. I really love this item even with the cons I had mentioned. I might have felt differently if I hadn't been able to find a solution for them, but I did and I will never be without one of these. If they ever create an "Upgraded" version with smaller squares and maybe a built in eye cover that can be removed if needed, then I will be the first in line to purchase! I love this thing so much that I bought a second one and when I don't have a headache, they are both in the freezer and when a migraine hits me - I can rotate between the two and always have a cold cap handy if I need it. If you are a migraine sufferer and are looking for something to offer relief, then pull out your favorite sleeping mask and give this thing a try.

This is a really good product!
Really nice for the headaches. Sometimes my husband and I fight over it!!! Not too heavy and stays on nicely, sometimes I even fold it under my neck when it hurts.

Works great but smells weird lol
I have chronic migraines and got tired of holding a bag of frozen peas to my head. This cap is great, but the material is so thin that the gel packs burn your skin. I had to put a cloth over my face when using this so that the gel packs would stop burning my forehead and eyes. The pressure of the packs is pretty nice since the cap is kind of tight, but it gets more comfortable once the gel packs melt a little bit and you knead the packs with your fingers and thumbs to get them to fit the contours of your face just right. I fell asleep wearing this because of how much relief I got from using it (and I can NOT sleep when I have a migraine since my eyes especially hurt so much), but only after I readjusted the cap around so I could lay my head down comfortably. I live in Louisiana so I get migraines a lot due to the sunshine/heat and will often wear this cap as a prevention method once I feel overheated or as a recovery once I get that tell-tale tingle in my eye that lets me know a migraine is coming on. It's helped a LOT and I highly recommend you get one. The only downside is that when I unboxed/unwrapped this, there was a bizarre chemical smell that I couldn't place. It was pretty sharp and uncomfortable, but faded a bit on its own.

Can’t do migraines without these!
These caps are a lifesaver when I have a migraine! I have others that provide a little more pressure but the don’t stay cold long. The fell in these freezer solid! The cold last for longer than any other, I have found. I do have to put a kitchen towel between my head and the cap because they are so cold. When they come out of the freezer, you will think that they will be uncomfortable because of the frozen gel packs being bulky but the extra pressure is actually amazing! I now own four of them so I can rotate them out if needed.

Nice addition for relief of my major headaches
I get pretty bad headaches, I call them migraines but I don’t know if I qualify since I’ve been getting these really bad headaches only in my 40s but they’re the kind that wear on you as the day goes on, to the point where you just have to go and lay down in a dark quiet room. Or I wake up with it and I’m hating life. Advil/Tylenol do not help at all. Which they normally do with the old type of headaches I used to get. Anyway I found that this product is very helpful and I recommend it if you suffer from headaches and looking for relief. I can’t take it straight out of the freezer and wear it like I’m supposed to over my eyes and face like they demonstrate in details above as it’s too intensely cold. I can maybe do it for about 10 seconds but it feels nice. I can leave it on my forehead and around my head and sometimes I bring it down around my neck and this primarily how I use it. I think it’s super cool that it comes with two. I thought I’d give one to my coworker when I bought it but I really like having two. 20 mins on/off and switch between the two is pretty awesome. I used to put 3 of the usual ice packs for sprains (you know the approx 4x9x0.5 flat ones) in a knee high sock and drape around neck or head. This is way better, lol. They really are intelligently or strategically placed. Never tried to sleep with it. The little ice packs come out of my freezer kinda hard but I can smush with my fingers before I put it on to loosen them up a bit. If your down for the count with headaches, I would highly recommend you try this out. Men buying for women, don’t give as bday or Xmas gift. We hate functional helpful presents like a vacuum, even though we need those kinds of things too. Give as an I love you gift. Way way more points, you know what I mean. And thank you to all the people that take time to give reviews for the stuff they buy. I don’t do it enough- pay it forward so to speak- but I always check them out for RL reviews before I buy stuff, hats off to you all. You guys that get stuff free for being regular reviewers, that’s so frigg’n cool, way to luck out, win win in my book.

First impressions: pros and cons
Just got this and wanted to share my first impressions. I might edit this later and increase the star rating depending on how effective it is. Pros - super easy to use, very comfortable. It stretches to fit and is nice and snug with the gel packs doing their work. Cools my head down immediately. Seems well-made and I appreciate the brochure that came with it that has interesting information about migraines and other headaches. Cons - on my trial run, the gel packs didn't stay cold as long as I expected. I suppose since I had been using ice packs, those lasted longer because ... well .. they're ice. But I'm concerned that if this only provides relief for a short while and then has to go in the freezer for two hours, it might not help me as much as I need. (One solution - my friend bought two of them! Not a terrible idea, actually). Other gripes - there is no gel pack at the very top of the cap, so if that is where your pain is, it might not fully provide relief. Also, and this is a big one - when you pull it down over your eyes, as shown in the image they provide ("blackout mode"), it naturally pulls the gel packs down, too. Suddenly you have a face freeze going on, as the two gel packs in the front end up cooling your upper cheekbone area instead of your head. Not ideal. Overall, I like the product, certainly will keep it, and perhaps I will update this review after my next migraine to tell you how the hat performed. I'll increase my star rating at that point if it's deserved.
