Chipped and cloudy
Though the price was reasonable, this product made in India was a little disappointing. I ordered 12 of them and 4 were chipped on the rim. The glass was thinner than I thought it should be and very cloudy. At first I thought that they were just dirty, so I washed them. They do not show the beauty of a flame because of the poor quality of the glass. I'm not going to return them, because my event is coming soon.

Best shape for clean burn !
This shape --plain, sturdy, and slightly tapered, -- is the best design for good steady candle-burn for an 8-hr votive, or for a tea light with the metal casing removed if you don't want the casing of a 4-hour tea-light obscuring the light as it burns down. (I always remove the metal case from tea-lights to get better illumination in a glass holder, as described below.)Fancy ones with thinner glass, with the "rounded" elegant base do not let a candle burn well -- the wax pools out and does not burn clean from the glass. The trick for a clean burn and easy fast clean afterward is to put a drop or so of olive or other oil in the bottom of the glass with a brush-- a coarse paint-brush or a pastry brush works well for this. The small residue and the metal wick base will flick out cleanly when slightly scraped with the tip of a dull knife, or handle of a spoon.Hint to manufacturer:The best illumination is colorless glass; but if you want to flatter complexions, I have found from experience that candles in pale pink votive glasses make people's faces look younger; when burning, you hardly notice that the glass is pink: it just looks the room look "rosy", which vastly enhances a dining or other candle-lit venue.

I collect brass candle holders and these are perfect for them instead of tapered candles
I collect brass candle holders and these are perfect for them instead of tapered candles. I even have antiques versions on these. They are much safer to use, and not at all messy like a tapered candle with be. And you can finally use your candle holders!!
