Took a little while to figure out how to use with Hikvision DVR
This seems like a decent quality camera, but it took me a while to figure out how to configure it for my DVR. By the way, even though it doesn't have an audio output jack, it does support audio via the HIKVISION-C (up-the-coax) protocol if you have a compatible Hikvision DVR.My DVR is a Hikvision DS-7308HQHI-SH and the maximum resolution it supports is 1920*1080 (2 MP). Unfortunately, the camera came configured for a higher resolution (4 MP, I believe). The video appeared black-and-white, and was jumping around. As I later discovered, it was also cut off at the top.The camera has a button that is supposed to let you cycle through the modes by holding it down for 5 seconds. Using this method, I was able to put the camera in the low-res (720 p) NTSC mode, which brought back the color. Unfortunately, none of the other modes produced a stable color image. Other cameras I used had either DIP switches or a joystick that worked in the low-res mode, but this camera has no such options. The only way to get into the menu is via PTZ.Using the PTZ both through the web interface and the DVR itself, I couldn't pull up the menu in the low-res mode. I tried it in the other modes, and the menu did appear (when I hit the "hamburger" icon in the web interface), but the top of the menu where you should be able to change the resolution, was cut off.You may be able to change it blindly by referencing the attached image. The order of the modes is 4M25/4M30/2M25/2M30/5M20. I haven't been successful with this method.Long story short, my solution was to connect the camera to my CCTV tester (B07GVJ799D). I hit the Zoom+ button and used the cursor keys to switch the mode to "2M30" (2 megapixels, 30 fps), then "Save & Exit".I'm taking one star off because I believe that it should be easier to set up a Hikvision DVR with a Hikvision camera.
