Avantree Boombyte

Great value for money. Looks study and the quality of the sound vs the version before (which only had a single speaker) is noticeably better. It does then in turn weight a little more but still easy enough for travel and although I haven't looked at it vs the original for battery I am sure it is good too!

Very happy with this MP3 player. Good sound. I mainly use it for audio books. I find the built-in software difficult to use for storing / selecting multiple audio books but, once listening to one, it is fine. And it starts at the point that you reached before switching it off, like a bookmark effectively, which is very useful for me. The only room for improvement is the built-in software. Also, excellent value for money.

Great radio. Lovely bit of kit. Loud but small

I have had Avantree products before and have found them very reliable with a very good after-sales / help service. In the past I have purchased their Avantree 850, which I found very useful and with the replaceable battery, the product lasts a long time. My biggest problem has been with its Bluetooth, which frankly, has only worked with my phone. What I wanted was to connect to my Internet radio's, which neither the 850, nor this Boombyte, would allow. Having checked with Avantree I now know that for a proper Bluetooth connection will only be with the Avantree Soundbyte T (I hope). I have therefore returned the Boombyte to Amazon and have ordered the T version. I could complain that the original adverts for the 850 and the Boombyte didn't make it clear about the Bluetooth limitation, but it may be that those in the know, will have realised it. I am not a techno phobe but I do need my hand held. I have given 4 stars only because of the Bluetooth issue. In all other respects, I would give it 5. What I will say is that this product is very well packaged.

Good sound and easy to use. Some of the weaker stations come in stronger with the usb charge lead plug in. The buttons make it very easy to select the stations

Would give ten stars if possible for this fantastic radio, Build quality, reception, sound quality, easy to navigate. Just love it.

Good size and portable

I lost my boom box , but it was dearly loved while I had it , took it out , nice size , not to heavy , doesn't compromise in the quality of sound department . Great value for the price , easy tuning .

Radio FM de qualité : très bon son stéréo, encombrement réduit, recharge rapide avec un cordon USB servant également d'antenne et autonomie largement suffisante. Produit utilisé pendant cinq semaines en été, dans un endroit très isolé : aucun problème de réception. Chaque recharge de la batterie a permis huit jours d'utilisation (environ trois heures quotidiennes). Cette radio a parfaitement correspondu à mes besoins. La connexion bluetooth avec un téléphone portable fonctionne sans souci. Conclusion : radio FM très fortement recommandée.

El sonido es bastante fuerte, las estaciones se escuchan sin fallos. Tiene funciones interesantes y el material es de calidad. Se carga rápido y dura bastante.

I use the Boom Byte as an FM radio and as a bluetooth speaker with my iPhone. Radio reception exceeds my expectations, and I get stations my previous forty dollar radio couldn't receive even though it had an antenna. Programming stations in is really intuitive and easy, just press and hold the numeric button once you're on the station of interest. Sound is crisp, and you can really crank it up if you want to. The digital tuning eliminates the frustration I had with using finicky dials that for me shifted unintentionally and easily. The sleek form factor is robust and appealing -- no antenna to fuss with or walk into, and I really like that instead of a handle you can use the included wrist loop, carry it easily in one hand, or drop it into a bag and not worry about it getting hooked or tangled. It's easy to charge, and the battery lasts a long time between charges. I have a few other bluetooth speakers under a hundred dollars, but this is now my favourite. It still functions normally while charging, and it doesn't play a bunch of noisy, disruptive tones when you turn it on or have a low battery. I've now purchased two of these, one for myself and one as a gift, and recommend the Boom Byte if you're looking for a good FM radio with strong reception and built-in rechargeable battery. It's also an excellent standalone bluetooth speaker that is very user-friendly.

Of the many small portable mono and stereo radios I've owned since the 60's this BoomByte has the best sound quality, battery life and function. I'm a simi audiophile who enjoys music almost anywhere, especially outdoors. My last small portable was a Melson S8 which had nice mono sound but finally died as the push buttons slowly became erratic. It's final demise was when it's old mini usb power connector broke off inside. I have others but their sound quality just doesn't cut it. The reviews on this Avantree Boombyte intrigued me enough to buy and I'm not disappointed at all. For it's small handheld size it packs some quality stereo sound. It's not a funky loud boombox. It's a nice little handheld personal Stereo with just the right amount of mp3 information displayed on its small screen. I couldn't find a user photo of the screen displaying the MicroSD MP3 info so I've included one here. Another must have for me is a good Random/Shuffle function. I only wish there was a dedicated button for it instead of having to open the menu and change selections with multiple choices. I arrange my favorite MP3's in alphabetic order by Artist name hyphen Song. When on my usual Random play and wish to hear another song from the same Artist I typically take it out of random then go back or forward to the Artist's song I wish to hear. A separate normal/random or programmable button would be fantastic. Frankly I would trade the FM button for it any day. Just have FM cycle through the "Mode" button. ex BT/FM/MP3 and make the dedicated FM button MP3 Random on/off! Photo from top to bottom: MicroSD symbol - Current song number with Total songs below - Random play Folder - ROOT or other if split into folders. Music Note Symbol - Scrolling file name left to right Play/Pause Symbol - Current track time hyphen / Total track time One final mention. If your songs, like mine, are generally at different volume levels causing a constant volume adjustment change between songs use a tool (program) such as freeware "MP3Gain" to equalize all of your music prior to copying to the microSD card. Speaking of, I'm using a Samsung 64GB exFAT card but have not tried over 32 GB of songs as I don't have that much in MP3. I also don't relish the though of re-ripping all of my CD's. One last mention. The built-in lithium battery is amazing! 2-3 days for my playing needs. FWIW it does charge at 3.1A on my multi USB charger (usb3 to usb3) which displays current draw. I'm using a certified 1.5' USB 3.2 cable if that matters. All in I'm thrilled with this little audio MP3 player. BT and FM which I rarely use work great also. The FM, with no external antenna autotunes fantastic in our rural location. It's a little more expensive than some others but IMHO worth the difference in quality.
