Great little detector
A recent home move resulted in needing to do various bits of DIY and drill into brick walls. I bought this to detect hidden pipes and electrical wires and it's proved its worth over and over.A previous detector had a sensitivity switch. This one doesn't but I'd say it probably isn't needed. It seems to very accurately detect pipes and wiring and once you get your head around how it works, (read the instructions properly, which I admit I didn't do immediately) you are able to locate the start and end of anything you don't want to drill into via the markings on the unit.It comes packed in a little tin, which protects it after use. It's a solid but light weight little piece of kit, which I would expect from Bosch. It's easy to hold and operate, with just a slider switch on the front to turn on and off. I'm still on the original battery after a couple of months use. A simple but effective tool and I'm very pleased with this detector.

Seems accurate
So I was confused reading the reviews between those who it didn't work with and those which it did.So trusted the brand and ordered it as I needed to install shelves near wall plugs.I read the instructions and started to "test" it. It seems accurate to me as it was detecting studs and wires at the same place consistently, at different moments and different directions ( left to right, high to low, right to left, etc...).It connected with the studs and the wires accurately every time. So, so far so good for detection of live ( and not) wires, but we'll see the accuracy of the detection once I start drilling into the wall for my new shelves. But I guess that if it has found the same stuff at the same place at different times and directions... It cannot be that bad? Will report back once I have found the right shelf and drilled the first hole... 😊Edit : After doing some more tests on live wires ( plug has to be switched ON and a device plugged and running ) although it caught the same studs and wires as before but also started detecting "wires" where there shouldn't have been any. So after an hour studying the wall , I've had enough and chanced drilling with my reasoning being : " makes no sense having wires at this place in the wall ". So I decided with my previous experience when I first checked the wall , and started drilling . Well if I am reporting this proves I am still alive, but it concerns me that on top of the wires it had found previously ( which seems fine as to where it found them ) it also detected some in places where it made no sense to have them...So my advice is : trust it to a certain extent and use common sense. If in doubt, call a professional...

Did exactly as advertised, no problems
Did exactly what it said it would, confirmed that a wall we thought was crossed with pipework most definitely was! Easy to use, but read the instructions and pay attention to them!

Why did you choose this product over others?:Great

About as useful as a screwdriver for opening a bottle of milk
Fantastic for detecting walls, not really very useful for detecting anything behind them. Doesn't matter how many times you calibrate it to make it less sensitive, if you stick it up against a wall in any location whatsoever you'll get the constant chirp of "yup, that's a wall".Also triggered by: floor, cupboards, the pine table in the kitchen, the cardboard box it came in, the glass pane of the French doors, anyone in the vicinity even thinking about a wall.Worryingly, the only time it didn't trigger when up against a wall was when it was placed directly on the back of the mains distribution panel.Honestly useless.

Better than nothing, but very erratic
Gives an indication of whether something is behind the wall, but as others have said it’s very erratic and can quickly shift from green to red. If you’re anything more than a very casual DIYer I’d buy something more expensive and reliable.

Great detector for hidden stuff within a wall
Very good for detecting hidden metal and/or live cabling, essential if you intend drilling into a wall in your house.Good value.Instructions for use are excellent

Affordable and does the job.
I’m really hyper critical with items like this because I’ve watched a lot of review videos and I’m very paranoid about drilling but this device works good enough for me to find metal. For some reason it doesn’t show me active power most times? But it’s great for me to find the metal containment inside my walls. Clesrly the more expensive ones will be much more accurate but this is great for home use
