These wonderful mushrooms came to me promptly and I can't wait to cook my favorite Hatian rice with them. The Hatian restaurant here closed down and took my access to their wonderful food with them but I could not bare the thought of never tasting it again. ...so I will cook it! Delicious!
This was my first time cooking rice with Djon-djon mushrooms. I followed an online recipe and ended up satisfied with the results. These mushrooms give the rice a unique flavor. I'd say the only downside is that you need to use a lot of the mushrooms per rice serving (it's about 1 cup rice for 1 cup mushrooms, give or take depending on how much flavor you want). With the amount that you get in this bag, you can make maybe 6-7 cups of rice. It would also be nice if the bag came with instructions, although this isn't really an issue since you can easily find recipes online.
