Awesome value for money
I bought this for my stereo system at my cabin and wondered if the low price was too good to be true. I am amazed how good this speaker is for the price. It works really well, good sound clarity and really well made. Only gripe is the bass quality is just a little lacking compared to the speakers I'm used to (OK I have Klipsch and Pioneer Andrew Jones in my home media room). But considering the price of this speaker is so much less than my home system ones, it's a very small price to pay in sound quality compared to the price difference to get the Klipsch/Pioneer ones. I like these a lot and would recommend to anyone putting a system together on a limited budget.

Works great for the price paid
I should start off by saying I bought this item through Amazon's warehouse deals used but in like new condition. When this package first came to my door I couldn't believe the size of the box. I didn't realize how big this speaker actually is, it seems much smaller than it is in real life however it worked fine in my area. One thing I noticed right away was the Acoustic logo was barely hanging on. This is actually a good thing because it looks much better with it off. On the top there were a few scratches and the laminate was coming off on the top let side, as I bought this used I can't deduct stars off of the speaker itself.Connection wise it's fairly simple, just your normal Red and Black push connectors. After that I was setup and on my way.I currently have a 5.1 Pioneer surround system with HDMI connections with Polk left and right speakers and Subwoofer and RCA surrounds. While I would definitely call my setup a budget setup, I feel I know quality sound when I hear it and I would say this produces "okay" quality. To the audiophiles by should ideally have all the same brand of speaker but to me and my budget I can only upgrade according to price vs quality. So, when I can I upgrade my speakers a little at a time every few years. This center channel is my first upgrade (from no center channel) and this is my finding.During movies and games I could hear a bigger sound field compared to having no center channel and the voices are no longer getting lost in with what is happening on-screen. My surround system has Dolby music for casting my playlist to my system and the center channel makes all the difference in the world. The music is cleaner, the vocals are richer, and the sound field is much larger. One thing to note is this speaker doesn't have much bass response at all, so a decent subwoofer with 50Hz (or 80 if your surround system doesn't support 50) is important to round out the sound field. Dialogue sounds great by themselves but the small amount of bass makes all the difference.Overall, for $30 this is a great budget center channel speaker that sounds worlds better than any HTiaB setup out there.Thank you for reading and I hope I helped in your purchasing decision!

Great for our entertainment needs!
This little bugger really pushes the sound, let me tell ya! It's clear, well built - no buzz or distortion. It's loud enough that when we replaced the old speaker, we had to adjust the channel down a little bit. That might suggest that this unit isn't as powerful as the old speaker we had working as a center speaker, but i beg to differ. It was every bit as wonderful and better sounding than the single speaker we replaced. And the cost was good. Is it top quality, something like a Bose? Naw, but i can afford this. I enjoy this speaker set. I am getting very satisfactory sound from my whole system now, with voices that sound like they're in the room with us. It's a great little center channel speaker.

Plays nice...
Full disclosure... I am not an "audiophile" and my main requirements for my surround sound system is that I can watch television and movies without much hassle and where I can actually hear what is going on in the dialog and effects.I looked for a low-cost alternative to the packaged cigarrette-box-sized center channel speaker that came with my system. I wanted something that matched my Boston Acoustics left and right chanel speakers and that gave me audible dialog and sound effects for television and movie watching. I got all those things.I can now hear the dialog without turning up the sound to levels that hurt the ears. The speaker box, in all its black plainness is just what I was looking for appearance wise. It fits my system and plays nicely. My one criticism is the connector for the speaker wires. It is horrible! I understand that on lower cost audio components that one is not going to get "gold plated" high level connection equipment, but the wire connector on this particular speaker is the WORST one I've ever seen in 40+ years of hooking up audio equipment. I may end up changing it myself as time goes on, as it barely grabs the wires. It took me 5 or more tries just to get the wires to stay in their holes by the spring pressure of the buttons on the connector. If this was better, I would rate the speaker another star, for it is truly a good value!

Sounds great
This is as inexpensive of a center speaker as you can find. Considering the price this is a great speaker. It does exactly what it is supposed to do, gives you clear speech.
