I'm still breaking it in, but this sub thumps. It produces tight, clean bass in a sealed enclosure that's 1.5-ish cubic feet. It's also surprisingly compact, considering its diameter and power handling, which is nice (if you're into that sort of thing). Honestly, I've never been let down by Polk Audio. They may not make super high end gear, but their speakers always sound quite good and are consistent in both efficiency and build quality. They're like the hamburger of speakers, nothing fancy, but you know what you're getting and they're always satisfying.

There is nothing I dislike about this sub , I have a thing for bass always have and I am switching up subs a lot … from My first and loudest setup yet 2polk Audio 10 ‘s (svc)4ohm ,that were years old and in a band pass box that weighed a ton I had no idea what I was getting myself into buying for 100 bucks from a buddy ..anyway it kicked off my hobby so back to the present as I swap out Skar, Rockford Fosgate, And Polk since I just bought this mm1 dvc 12 ,thinking of how much I loved my first ones and I’ll say with just 1 and it not being broke in quite yet I’m still impressed on how good it sounds and can produce quality sounding lows …Polk makes quality products for sure …got a 500x1D mono amp (Rockford Fosgate) @2ohms pushing it and it’s a great match …not too much but enough to satisfy my bass fix. Recommend this sub to anyone it’s for real … quality ….

I used to be an avid Polk fan boy…until these subs came into my life…. I have 15 years of building car audio and boat audio and these subs have given me a run for my money. THEY DO NOT HANDLE THAT RMS RATING. Polk needs to go back and run the numbers because I can turn the gain to even half at 1ohm without blowing the fuses and making the coils smell hot. I ran them for nearly 8 hours before turning it up a little only to have taken them in and out a dozen times changing fuses and troubleshooting them. I’m done. I put 350rms to them before the fuses popped again. I have time to return one but I am out of return window for the other so now I’m stuck with it. POLK PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY.

I’ve had a fair amount of subs that fall into this price range. And these Polk are amount the top for sound quality. Another plus is the mounting depth. It’s very shallow. But doesn’t perform as such. I would not hesitate to revamped these to people looking to get a respectable amount of spl. But do so with SQ being priority. I have them in a large sealed box. Almost think they could be a little better in a slightly smaller box. Maybe like 3 too 3.25cubes. For the pair. I think would be perfect. But I’m sure you could go smaller than that as well very solid smooth sound coming from the woofers. Great value subs.
