This is a wonderful instrument that anyone can play and enjoy. I got the 12 inch 13 tone Horse in C and immediately fell in love with it. Every home should have one. Fun, soothing, portable. It would be a great introduction to music for kids. This tank drum seemed to optimize cost versus sound quality and would make a good first purchase in the exploration of these drum types. Someday a hand pan?

Order arrived on schedule, about 36 hours Prime. Product obviously was used. Canvas case is splattered with mud spots on both sides. Stickers were already applied; some crooked, some peeling off. Followed the Amazon process to exchange it; another one is arriving in two days; free return shipping within 2 months on first one.The drum is nice if you're not looking for one in tune, although the little booklet that comes with it states "...can be adjusted by fine-tuning: pitch down by pressing the tongue for overtone, or by using a file with grinding to file it down at the root of the tongue, and the tongue will be lowered; if it is low tone, please top off the tongue from its bottom." A common means of tuning tongue drums is adding magnets to the back of the tongues; there is a 3.25" opening with a rubber stopper for accessing the inside of this drum.The stickers with dotted 5,6,7 numbers denote notes below the full octave set of notes, and the dotted stickers 1,2,3 denote notes above the full octave; hence the range of notes is G-A-B-C-D-E-F-G-A-B-C-D-E (if in tune). Be sure to reference which stickers go on which tongues.The songs in the book sound like toddler nursey rhymes, so you might want to order more interesting music to start off with. The 16 songs include "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"; "Little Bee"; "Rice Shop"; "Small Rabbit Lambkin"; "Mary Had A Little Lamb"; "Wash Handkerchief". Lyrics, notes, music staff not included - only numbers corresponding to stickers for the tongues (see photo).The drum is of substantial build - weighty, not thin metal. The sound is decent; the drum has potential. Learning to play it could prove a fun challenge.UPDATE: Replacement arrived in two days. The canvas case also had some dirt splatters on it but not nearly as much as the first one - so evidently both came from the factory or seller like that. The new drum also had stickers on it (but weren't crooked, and not peeling off), so maybe they are supposed to - each drum came with a second set of stickers also. The second drum has a much better sound, and not as much out of tune.

The media could not be loaded.  This is a really fun instrument, and it makes pleasant sounds. It's difficult to make it sound unpleasant, even if you're unpracticed at playing it. It's got a satisfying range of notes, and it's both simple and engaging to come up with a tune. Along with the drum itself comes a highly functional gig bag with an attachable strap, finger picks, and comfortable sticks (mallets). Playing this thing is soothing and gratifying. I definitely recommend it for both novices and people looking for an instrument with serious quality and potential.

The media could not be loaded.  Well-packed! It came as described, easy to learn and gift able. There're some fun songs in the book that came together. Unfortunately, I have hard time open and close the bag,the zipper is horrible. I'm afraid I might break it someday.

Everything about this Drum is AWESOME: giftable, easy to learn and great for beginners. The sound is sooooo soothing!

The overall sound is pleasant enough except for the high 3 which sounds like a clunk unless the strike is closer to the outer edge than the others. Very unhappy about that. Also, the drumsticks come un-assembled and when you put the tips on they no longer fit into the box. and even if they did, there would not be room for the stick rest that is included. Poor packaging IMHO. I'm considering returning the whole package.

Bon produit, conforme à la description. Seul petit bémol serait que les baguettes n'ont pas de compartiment dans la housse de rangement. Dommage puisqu'on ne va pas l'utiliser sans baguette... À part cela rien à dire.

I absolutely love this drum! I did a lot of research and watched YouTube videos and read reviews before deciding on this one. I am very pleased with my choice. It’s one of the very few drums with 13 notes in this price point and it is EXCELLENT quality. I only wish it was available in different colours, but it’s a nice jewel tone green. Sound is amazing and it’s quite addictive to play. Lovely notes and very soothing. The mallets and bag are a nice quality too. The drum is large, but not too much so and it’s not heavy. My son likes to play it too. Highly recommended!

Delightful! Comes with a tiny music book which anyone can soon play along with. Very pretty sound and a pleasing drum to have on your lap. Literally good vibrations :)
