KUHN RIKON 2023 Salad Spinner with Side Handle and Instant-Stop Button, 21 cm, Green

I'm so happy I found this salad spinner. We had previously owned a beautiful stainless steel spinner that was twice the price of this one--and, because it used a cord mechanism, lasted two months before the cord burned out. I was therefore looking for a replacement that didn't have a cord, and found two versions of this particular green-and-white crank spinner: this Kuhn Rikon model and an Italian one that appear identical, and are likely made in the same factory.First impression: While function is definitely more important than looks, I was a little dismayed to find that this big lime green thing was going to be taking up residence in my kitchen, but there wasn't another spinner with the same functionality. Even just offering it in white on white, or maybe grey on white, would have been better... The spinner also came in two sizes, this 26cm model and a smaller 20cm model. We (two adults) each have a big salad as one of our main meals every day, and often eat leafy greens, so I'm very glad I went with the bigger model. The 20cm might be adequate for washing herbs & side salads, but otherwise would mean that each meal-sized salad portion would have to be washed and spun individually.In action: The spinner is big and feels sturdy. There are little non-slip feet on the bottom of the outer bowl, a button on top of the spinner to stop the crank when you let it go, and then the crank itself. It's a nice, simple design. There's no instruction manual at all, so I'm not sure if the item is dishwasher safe and whether the top (crank included) is dishwasher safe, but reviews of the identical-looking Italian model have said that it's fine in the dishwasher. It doesn't have a lot of grooves or crevices so hand-washing should also be a breeze. The crank doesn't take much effort to get strong centrifugal action going, and salad is barely damp by the time you're done. Fantastic!Conclusion: Simple, effective product that looks durable and does a fantastic job of getting your washed salad dry.

This is the best salad spinner you can buy honestly I've tried a few. I have a raw diet and eat salad daily and I'm also disabled and in a wheelchair chair due to a broken spine. This is perfect it spins the salad dry the handle to turn is excellent for me as I'm in the wheelchair gives plenty of power to the spin and has a massive capacity the pictures show two romaine lettuces chopped up and still plenty of room. The spinner has a lot of power so it's better to place a hand on the lid to steady it while spinning and also the stop button works well and is a great feature like I said I use it twice a day and have done for a month or more and it excellent washes and cleans easily I totally recommend getting this salad spinner I got the larger size but to be honest I could have got the smaller one and it would have been fine I just have more capacity and it get the job done quickly

If you're trying to avoid Chinese manufacture, don't buy this. I already knew that Khun Rikon Switzerland products are made in China having bought other items. Nevertheless, the design is good if you can accept the colour bright green in your kitchen. As others have said, the flimsy acrylic bowl will require careful handling!

this is a very useful salad spinner. having washed the lettuce thoroughly and rinsed it, I just place it in the colander and this into the bowl, place the lid on top and wind the handle for about half a minute and let it run. you have to hold the whole thing otherwise it would dance about and jump off the counter! when you want it to stop just press the button. I usually empty the water out and do it again just to get a really good spin. I am really pleased with it. nice crisp lettuce - dried out.

I like the fact it works so well. Salads and veg or soft fruits can be washed in either the basket or the clear outer bowl.The spinning system is SO easy with the handle. It works beautifully smoothly ....my last salad spinner was such an effort.It is very efficient...,dry salad is achieved with very little effort.I have also tried it with soft fruit and grapes...the action is gentle enough not to damage these.It takes up a bit more room to store, because of the handle, but it still fits in the fridge when I need it to and in a cupboard between uses.The clear outer bowl is useful to serve salad and I really like the bright green parts. I think it looks very fresh and smart.I am very pleased with its functionality and its good looks. FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION.

Wow ... compared to the last salad spinner I had from John Lewis, this one is like the Rolls Royce of salad spinners. The side-mounted handle makes it loads more stable, and with the sturdy build quality, it doesn't feel like the handle is going to come off in your hand.

Spins lettuce leaves pretty well, but I had no idea that my normal washing up brush, which has never given me a moment's problem, would scratch the bowl (which is made of thin, transparent plastic) so badly. Had I known, I wouldn't have bought it. It feels as though the bowl would shatter if I accidentally dropped it. A pity, because the lid, in contrast, feels really robust. I suspect that the lid will outlast the bowl, and I doubt that this product will keep going for over 20 years, like my last salad spinner!

E' già la seconda volta che compro questa spinner per insalata di marca svizzera a distanza di tanti anni. Qualità ottima, confrontata con tanti spinner anche più costosi, sia per la scodella di plastica sia per il meccanismo con manovella che è veramente comodo da usare. La parte superiore poi si può dividere in modo da lavare in lavastoviglie le componenti che sono a contatto con il cibo. Consigliatissimo!

Fantastica! Facile di usare, misura giusta pe una famiglia di quattro persone, buona qualità, avevo comprato altre più semplicemente e economiche ma se sono rote e erano dificile di usare ma queste è molto facile di usare, la recomendo veramente.

XL, on peut mettre une grande salade, robuste, la manivelle est très facile à actionner, de plus la salade est très bien essorée. L'essoreuse ne bouge pas car il y a des petites embases anti-dérapants en dessous. Elle est parfaite.
