Monolith and Emotiva make Amazing Budget Amps!!
I have owned the monolith m7100x (7 channel) amp for years and am extremely happy with it! This m5100x has a better signal to noise ratio than my m7100x and is $100 per channel of amplification which is as cheap as possible and the quality and customer service is phenomenal! As pictured, the XLR inputs are “Unbalanced” because the amp is not grounded (is a 2 prong plug). True 3-prong (grounded amps) that have “balanced” XLR inputs will always be more expensive. I have a m7100x amp for my surround channels and an emotiva 3 channel amp (145 watts per channel) for my Soundstage on my Dolby Atmos 7.2.4 system and am happy with both amps. The outlaw audio 5 channel and 7 channel amp is a balanced, grounded amp and has better specs and more watts per channel if you want to spend more. While I wouldn’t use this amp for my soundstage its more than adequate for surround channels. I have a Denon AVR-x4500h that I use to power 2 pairs of surround channels. I also use my m7100x to power my outdoor Bose 251 speakers and it is perfect for that as well. My setup is all entry level mid-tier budget friendly and after everything is said and done I don’t think you could tell a difference between this amp and a more expensive amp, especially if you have an AV Receiver as opposed to a processor and are only streaming movies. You only need a better amp than this if you have an Audio processor (with zero amplified channels) and consistently use a UHD disc player to get True Dolby Atmos as opposed to limited bandwidth while streaming movies which uses a different Dolby Atmos format, a lossy format called dolby digital Dolby Atmos. If you’re on the fence I would definitely pull the trigger and buy this amp based on my experience. Also, I have ELAC Debut 2.0 speakers which are also budget friendly and sound great!

Finally Have Punch in my $2100 Receiver!
I have a 7.1.4 (2 subs) home theater setup with Sony ES STR-AZ5000ES 11.1 receiver. Connecting all speakers to the receiver was disappointing so I took a chance and got this 5 channel power amp to power my front, center, and front atmos speakers from receiver pre outs, freeing up my receiver's power to drive the surround, surround atmos, and surround back speakers. I used trigger 1 on the receiver to connect to the 5100 so that when the receiver powered on, the amp would as well. Connections were easy to set up and once everything was connected, I powered up, and my speakers came alive!! Even at 90 watts per channel, the amp provides more than sufficient power to drive those front facing speakers (all Klipsch) and the remaining speakers are now humming where they were whispering before. I totally recommend the amp -- and at a great price, BTW.
