Some important things to note.
Yes, the product does work as intended. Not is not meant as an end all be all. This is for people who have a light to moderate infestation. If you have anything above light or moderate, this product will not be as effective until you hire someone to fumigate your space and THEN apply these as a preventative measure so they don't come back. When using this product, do not be alarmed if at first you see MORE pests coming about. It means the product is functioning properly, as the ultrasonic waves are infiltrating their brains and causing them to panic, and therefore to flee from your space. Hang in there if you're at this stage, it does get better. This means it's pulling not only the critters you COULD see, but the ones you COULDN'T see. They say, for example, for every place you find ONE rat, there are probably 3 more hidden somewhere. So, be patient and let the product work its magic. In the meantime you could also set traps, in places that won't interfere with the plug-in. This way when they come out, they will head to those traps, seeking refuge in their attempts to flee. After about 2 weeks, things should improve. No, they will not be gone completely by this time, but there should be a noticeable difference.By the 6th week, sightings should be miniscule. Maybe you see an occasional critter here and there, once every few days or so. This is fine. The product is working as intended. For the settings, you should be using this on at LEAST the middle setting if you have a moderate to light infestation. If you have a VERY light infestation, or the issue is solved for now, then the lightest setting should do. You should actually NOT use the highest setting during times you or your pets are in the home. Because it is audible and it is noticeable, and for some, it is bothersome. Right on the box, they even recommend that the highest setting only be used when you and/or family are away from the home (so for example, maybe you put it on the highest setting when you and/or your kids/pets are away at work or school or on a walk), and use Low or up to Medium setting when occupying your space. Unless it's being used in a place like your garage or a warehouse, then you could leave it on the highest setting. Also, if in general, the highest setting's sound does not bother you, then of course you could leave it on High. Apparently it does take some getting used to or adjusting for kids or pets, though so it may bother them at first, but they'll tune it out eventually. Could also just turn on the TV or listen to music to drown it out. Also, make sure that wherever you plug this in, that it is unobstructed by other objects, especially things like table cloths or curtains etc. It should be parallel to the floor, meaning not touching the floor. The reviewer who stated that they placed one outside their front door to get rid of mosquitoes lurking there, doesn't seem to understand that they gave up right as the product was doing what it was supposed to. If you are seeing MORE mosquitoes AT FIRST, that is a good sign. That means it's working. They are stuck to the wall because they are disoriented and trying to figure out how to get away.I think the main takeaway from this is, patience, patience, patience. Give it time. It's not an instant or immediate solution. It is gradual, and needs at LEAST a few weeks to really do its job. You're not going to 100% stop seeing pest altogether if you had them. But you will see a gradual decrease and perhaps a lesser occurence of them. If it seems 100% ineffective, try troubleshooting the issue. Or, it may mean the issue is a lot more major and requires consulting with a professional. Then, and only then, might it serve well as a deterrent or preventative solution instead. Perhaps you won't need to hire someone as often, that sort of thing.

One of the best product for keeping bugs away!
I feel like I can finally leave an honest review of this product. I live in Florida and the bugs here are horrendous. We bought a house in a wooded area and I knew that would mean dealing with the bugs. I put these up in just about every room a few days after moving in and I have barely seen any bugs in the house at all, except for flies. These don’t bother my dog one bit, but my husband on the other hand says he can hear it on level 2. He said it sounds like white noise/tv static. However, even keeping them on level one has made a world of difference. I love these things and will continue keeping them in the house, and will likely be buying more for the two rooms that don’t have one currently.

Jury Is Still Out
8 Jun 25: Starting with 4-stars. The overall quality is good, but the jury is still out on how these devices deter and put mice into retreat mode! I've caught 4 mice over the past 3-weeks (total), 2 mice each time. About 8 days between catches. Recently there was more mouse activity in my basement, where this little guy ate through the trap and escaped!I'm hoping these devices will do the trick (if so, I'll bring my stars up to 5).Buyer BEWARE: If you have kids, they will be very sensitive to the Treble AND Bass mode. While I can't hear the Bass Mode unless I'm right close to the speaker, my kids can hear it from the otherwise of the house (and through walls).

Call Me Crazy But I Think its Working
I got these with high hopes, then I saw some really negative reviews of these kinds of products and thought I got suckered in. But after three weeks, I'm seeing that they're actually . . . working. (??!!) I did get some increased activity for 2 - 3 days. Caught three mice in traps. But after that, NOT A PEEP. I've been plagued by mice in one particular spot for several months. Nothing would get rid of them. Now it is absolutely quiet with NO SIGN of activity. Is it a coincidence, a dream? IDK

These WILL do the trick, just give it time
Super easy to use, just plug it in and choose your setting and done. The one thing to keep in mind is this does not work overnight, after about a week I noticed less activity. After 2 week all the mice/rat where gone. I used this along with some bait and it did the trick. We have chickens so it's always a battle trying to keep the rodents away. These seem to do the trick. Great value and worth the buy

So far, so good
I am using this product in combination with an automotive version of the same solution. My pest problem is (was?) in the garage. Since I installed these devices, I have not seen any trace of unwanted guests.I also installed one in the basement (just in case) and another one in the main living area. One thing I have noticed (or not) is the absence of ants so far. By this time in the year, I would have had to have the ant traps in place to prevent problems; I haven't yet. Is it because of this widget? If so, I would give it not 5 but 6 stars! As I said before, The rodents haven't shown up in the garage since these have been in place.

The jury is still out. I see some effect but I still have mice
I'm leaving it at three stars because the jury is still out as to weather or not these things work. My big complaint is that these don't work as advertised. The instructions manual lists a bunch of other pests, like roaches and fruit flies in the list of pests it repels, but even their te h support will tell you it does nothing for some of these pest. We need some honesty in what is printed on the documentation. As far as effectiveness...I think it's reducing my mouse problem as I see less evidence that mice are still running around. I also have traps in some of the runways the mice follow and I have noticed that there is no more mouse poop. But I have seen mice run across the floor, so it's not getting rid of them completely (neither are the traps, so there is that...). I have put it at both the quiet setting and the full blast setting, alternating it every couple of weeks so the mice dont become accustomed to it...as per instructions given to me by tech support. I still have mice. I will probably just get a cat lol.
