RubiesInc - Deluxe Pirate Hat Adult

Ok I read the reviews, then decided to get this. I always worry that what i get is going to be the WORST, as in..."I should've paid attention to the really critical reviews" but happily this is not usually the case and it wasn't with this hat either. If you've ever bought a synthetic felt hat, that's what you're getting here, it's not gonna pass for an authentic piece in front of a collector, but it's a great, relatively durable costume addition or stage hat. It's not an eighty dollar vision of woolen perfection, but I didn't want that, I wanted something I could glue things to, ribbons, charms etc. And it's perfect for that. The snaps all come unsnapped, if you want, although the brim stays molded up. I have a normal sized head and medium thick hair(girl)and it fits just fine on my head. One reviewer said it was the wrong shape for your head, and I lol'd when I got the hat because I think he was trying to put it on sideways. Now technically you could wear a tri-corn with one of the flat parts facing front rather than a corner, but this hat won't fit that way, it fits like it shows in the picture, with a corner facing front, and if you wear it this way, it fits just fine. I don't think the material is overly scratchy, but then again i knew I was getting a synthetic felt hat. The crown of the hat was a little mashed when I pulled it from the box, but it popped right back into shape. Bottom line: I'm a costumer, I needed a "pirate hat" base to glue ribbons to, and fancy up, and this worked perfectly for that, if they made one in brown or grey, I'd buy that one too, although I'm pretty sure this hat would take paint well, if I really needed a different color or I needed to color match.

For the price this is actually pretty nice, packaging was sus, it was in a clear plastic bag smashed into the mailbox but after some reforming with my hands and letting it sit out it was fine. It’s made of a starchy felt material from what it feels like to me. It’s a great base to customize your own pirate hat! I definitely recommend this!

I was trying to put together a last minute costume and luckily this hat was available for 2 day shipping. Hat is made of cheap material but it gets the job done. It's pretty basic, but with a little imagination and a few other Amazon purchases, your hat can be fun and unique. Sadly the tag at the back of the hat is secured with glue so it left reminants behind. I chose this one because on other hats people said they were childs size. This is still a little small but I also have a big head...

Wore the hat as a part of a pirate costume, and decorated the hat with feathers and a large costume jewelry pin. It was less expensive than the ones I found in costumes stores. It was a little large, but the price made it worth it.

Cute to look at, but that's it. Used it for a pirate costume but it peeled all over the place and parts of it were smushed in so badly that I couldn't connect the tri corners. Will never buy again and I'm only not returning it because my son loved it (for reference, he's 9 years old and okay with terrible quality).

This is a great quality hat for a costume. The felt is nice and thick and is adult sized. It arrived in a nice box ans perfectly shaped!

Definitely recommend, great quality and looks amazing! Was looking for a pirate hat to compliment my sexy pirate costume for Halloween!
