If every car maintenance was this easy and inexpensive...
I wrote a review previously about a Fram replacement filter that I'd still recommend if you're comfortable buying a new filter every few years. (http://www.amazon.com/CF10134-Fresh-Breeze-Cabin-Filter/dp/B0010E00T6/ref=cm_cr-mr-title) But if you're interested in buying one time and just doing some minor maintenance every few years, I'd suggest this K&N product. It was super easy to install (like the Fram). But I love knowing that when this one gets dirty, you can wash it out and just put it right back. If you assume approximately $100-$120 that the dealership will charge you every few years for a new filter, this thing will save you hundreds throughout your car's life. The filter has a pretty heavy duty rubber outer casing that gives you confidence it is well made. And the fit is nearly perfect. There was some slight bowing on one side of the filter (maybe a centimeter and a half), but I doubt you'll notice any problems as a result of such a small knit. This thing is great and I wish all car maintenance items were as easy to do for yourself. They include a couple of stickers which I recommend you use to indicate to service providers that this is a re-usable filter.

Works great!
Bought this cabin filter for my 2012 Acura TL. Easy to install and a perfect fit. Makes air smell better too.

It's worth it!
I didn't realize how dirty the smell of the old filter was until I replaced it with a K and N. The air from the vents smelled fresh and clean. The old filter wasn't that dirty with about 6K miles on it. It was worth the price. Sure made a big difference. The flow of air also increased, even on low.

Mouse proof goodness!
A cabin air filter is no big deal, right? ten or fifteen bucks at the auto parts store for a pleated paper piece of junk and you are on your way... well, let me tell you a story about why that isn't the case. I live in new england, and despite the ravages of climate change, we still get some snow in the winter. Because of all of the headaches of plowing driveways and such, we let one of our cars sit for the winter last year. Sure, we started it every now and again, but.... well, mice like cars. It turns out, on a Kia soul, there is a clear pathway for mice to get into the air system. when they do, there is just a paper filter between them and the wonderful mousy paradise of a tunnel system we will call "deeper in the air system". mice chew through paper filters like they are cheese flavored. this is a problem. On a Kia soul, it might be easy for a mouse to get into the homey land of deeper, but it is a nightmare for people. It turns out, that you have to uninstall the break pedal, pull out a fan motor that doesn't want to be pulled and and reach your arms up around three and a half corners to pull the mouse nests out of the land of deeper. i am not elastigirl. my arms don't bend that way. it is not comfortable to lay upside down under the steering wheel of your car. It is not an experience i would ever choose to go through again. This is where K&N come in. This thing costs compared to any other air filter, almost five times as much. Why would anyone pay that? I paid that because this thing isn't just paper. it is coated in a tough, mouse proof metal screen that will stop me from ever having to crawl back under the steering wheel of a kia soul for the sake of a stupid mouse nest. it is like a brick wall for mice. so worth it. I think i still have a kink on my neck from this one.

Fits good but has vertical play (2016 Honda Accord Sport)
The filter is high quality and covers the full surface area of the duct. However there is vertical play where it sits. I don't understand why they wouldn't make the filter to where it would fill out the area completely. That being said it works great so far and I noticed an increase in CFM's (airflow) on my AC/Heater. For the price I think it's a really good deal seeing as how it will last the lifetime of the vehicle if properly maintained.

One and done cabin air filter purchase
Sure it's not as cheap as a stock replacement paper filter, but if you clean it once a year it pays itself off in couple years. Not a bad price to pay for clean cabin air.
