good bite kit to keep on hand for the summer
In Florida, we have the issue of fire ants, whose bite not only itches (usually afterward), but stings initially. And, of course , bee and wasp stings are painful as well. For those kind of insect bites, the lidocaine is good, as it numbs the skin to relieve the pain if the sting. Also, the arnica (I am told) helps wit the itching, so this pad should cover both. While these are a bit pricey at $16 for 18 patches, my wife and I usually do not end up drying up such pads with 1 light use, so we keep them in a ziplock bag after using once so we can get a second use out of it to save a bit of money in the long run. So, that said, these are a useful item.

Good, if used QUICKLY
I've seen different people reporting different results with these (Medagel Bug Bite Relief Patch), but, in my experience they work fairly well, if (and only if) you use them fairly soon after getting the bite.I'm not sure if it relates to the bite having 'closed up' or something, if you wait too long, but used within a few minutes of a mosquito bite it numbed (as expected; it has lidocaine in it) but then the itch didn't return when I removed the patch a few minutes later. Used on bites from an hour ago it still helped with the itch, but it then returned when I removed the patch. Not sure why it worked that way, and the instructions say not to use it on an open would (although I'm not sure I'd call any mosquito bite an 'open wound' absent a bunch of scratching or something tearing the skin), but that was my experience. So, from my perspective, they are great to have on-hand if you expect to be bitten.

Does Not Stay On
Doesn’t do a great job of stopping the itch but even worse, they’re just a pad of goop that slides off and gets fooled into everything else but your skin. Terrible product design

Stickers
These are just like pimple patches. They cover the bite and draw out what makes you itch. And lessens the bump. Also great for people who can't leave bumps alone or are skin pickers

Do NOT leave on too long
The first thing I noticed when I went to use a Medagel Bug Bite Relief Patch is that the print on the label is very small and fine. Made reading the directions for use very difficult. It was very hard to make out most of the label, including the ingredients and warning to not wear the patch for too long. The label needs to be made bigger or an insert given with the jar.As for use, I used the patches mainly on mosquitoes bites and a tick bite. Placing the patch was easy enough. Peel the blue paper from the gel, and then place the gel on the bite. The gel was sticky enough without being gross.Relief was temporary. On one bite, I think I left the patch on too long, as the spot became red and more irritated than it was before placing a patch on it. Compared to the other bites I had that I did not have the patch on for more than maybe an hour, it has lasted longer and the mark from it is still on my skin about 2 weeks later. When I only had the patch on for 30 mins to maybe an hour, those bites did better. They may have itched later, but we're soothed enough I could easily ignore. So, those healed quicker.I think my daughter may be allergic to an ingredient as she felt more irritation and no relief when using one.Good in some situations, but not for everyone.

How do you use this? The label isn't helping.
This is literally what the label looks like... indistinguishable text. It comes with no other directions. I would love to try this product, but I have no idea what I'm doing here. Does part of the little circle peel off? Do I stick it on with water? Does it just sit there or is it supposed to disintegrate? I can't really say, because there are no directions.

No bad Aroma, Works Very Well, Is Small Quantity
These Medagel Bug Bite Relief Patches deliver on their promise to sooth bug bites. We live in mosquito country and are frequently their target. There are 18 patches in this small jar. You wash the bite, take the patch out and place it on the bite. Within a short time the bite is less inflamed. I didn't find that the patch helped much with the itching but definitely the pain was lessened. The patch has lidocaine as an ingredient which is a very good numbing agent. I am happy with the patches but wish a larger quantity was offered. I stock up on items like this for the summer and don't want to have to place several orders to get us through. But, a good product and worth trying, especially for the kids.

Works but expensive for each use
These clear hydrogel patches do work well in providing relief of mosquito bites. I got bitten in a few spots on my legs and I applied these to 2 of the bites. Typically, I use a different device that applies heat to the mosquito bite to stop the itch. I wanted to compare the effectiveness between the two. The heating ones do get quite hot but I find them very effective. I usually have to apply it a few times to calm down some mosquito bites. In this specific case, I had to use it a few minutes apart as the itchiness started coming back. As for the hydrogel patches, they seem to mute the itchiness a fair amount. I still felt them but wasn't bad enough where I had to scratch them. With the other ones, the heat gets rid of the itch entirely but came back a few minutes later. I had to keep using them until the itch went away. I'm surprised that these hydrogel patches worked so well for me. They do work to reduce the itch a good amount. It's enough for me to find them quite effective. My issue with them is that they are so expensive for each patch. If I had applied these patches to each bite I received in one night, the 18 patches wouldn't last me a week. Therefore, as effective as they are, I wouldn't really recommend them unless nothing else works.
