This oil filter wrench is perfect for the job. My 2020 Ram 2500 has very limited space to work in...way to go Ram! The manufacturer of this specialized wrench states that it may be tight on oil filters. This was true when I took out the factory oil filter. Some paint came off the filter. But, when I put in a new Mopar oil filter and tightened it up, it fit perfectly. Other oil filter removal tools either won't fit in the limited space or they would chew up the filter while taking it out.

I bought this Oil filter wrench after watching a few videos on You Tube trying to learn how to do an Oil change on the truck. One video maker said that this was an absolute must for getting the Oil filter off. They were right. If It wasn't for this wrench I'm not sure how I would gotten the filter off. Sure I wouldv'e figured it out and probably would have had a quart of used Diesel oil all over the place doing it. The wrench is a perfect fit for the Mopar filter, and the Mopar replacement. It made a difficult task easy by fitting into the tight space around the filter , and giving you a substantial handle to work with. The guy who let me use his lift to do the Oil change was skeptical at first, but then when he saw how easy it made the task of breaking the filter loose he ordered one. Well made and thought out. Kudos to the designer! Definitely would recommend this to a friend, and in fact I already have.

This wrench is very useful for changing the oil filter on a Ram Cummins pickup truck. Use this wrench with the special plastic insert that screws on end of oil filter. I have removed the oil filter and reinstalled the new oil filter without spilling a drop!. Fill new oil filter with oil and screw on plastic insert. Use 3/8" drive ratchet for extra leverage.

This thing made changing my oil filter on my 2018 Ram 2500 so easy. I was able to get the tool around the filter and loosen the filter for removal. It even helps with re-installation as well. It is definitely a tool I didn't know I needed. Without this too it would of been very difficult to replace the oil filter.

Handle should be longer to loosen and tighten filter. This tool works, only handle too short for leverage

I go through the wheel well when I can but it is tight. I flop the wrench a couple of times for fit but it beats anything else I have used.

First, I rarely leave a review on Amazon, but felt I was compelled to about this tool. I had unsuccessfully tried to remove my 2018 Ram 2500 oil filter and was unable to using several oil filter tools, including vice grips, straps, socket type, etc etc without luck - apparently the last shop that replaced this went overboard on tightening the filter (they really only need to be hand tight from what I understand. I saw this tool on a YouTube video and bought it. WOW!!! less then 10 seconds and it was off.

I usually just use filter pliers doing oil changes saw it recommended in a video thinking it was a gimmick thought I’d give it a try. Boy was I thankful. I just got the truck and it was the first service I was doing on it and The filter was on so tight filter pliers started to crush the filter. The only way I could get it to break free was this tool and a hammer worked like a charm to break it free with out having to resort to the screwdriver method and make a mess.
