Earls The Cookbook: Eat a Little. Eat a Lot. 110 of Your Favourite Recipes

This cookbook is my new favorite in my collection. I stock up on basics like the oven-dried grape tomatoes, jalapeno cilantro puree, and especially the confit garlic and oil, all items that can be used in myriad dishes using different applications. The focaccia bread is now a staple in my home, and the santa fe chicken salad is to die for. I have yet to be disappointed with any of these simple, flavorful and diverse recipes. I haven't even visited their establishment, but now it's definitely in my future vacation plans.

It's a wonderful cookbook don't get me wrong - but I moved to the Midwest two years ago and found myself craving Earls and their delicious Chili Chicken throughout my pregnancy. Imagine my glee when I saw they were releasing a cookbook! I could make all my favorites. And I can! EXCEPT THE CHILI CHICKEN. They've included a recipe for their Korean Fried Chicken instead and said they're keeping the simpler Chili Chicken "a secret because it's so simple". THATS GREAT EARLS BUT IT DOESNT GET ME THE DELICIOUS CHILI CHICKEN I WANTED IN STOMACH NOW DOES IT!?Granted, I'll likely just make the batter and wontons and tinker with some common sweet chili glaze but still! I feel betrayed. How could you Earls, I thought us Canadians were better than that?

Fantastic hardback full of yummy recipes from one of my favourite restaurant chains....what can I say? A little piece of Canada in your kitchen, brilliant!

I love this beautiful cookbook! The vibrant pictures and easy to follow instructions will make cooking a breeze, even for less experienced home cooks. :) I have many wonderful memories of working (and eating!) at Earls, and I can hardly wait to re-create all my favourite dishes. There is nothing quite like going out to dinner and experiencing great food, service and ambiance, but sometimes, its just not convenient. Now, I can spoil my family and friends at home with these delightful recipes.

Lots of really nice receipes, great colored pictures of the food. Covers apps, salads, mains, deserts. Everything I've made out of this book has been great. Some recipes are quite easy but tasty and others get quite complicated. I've had to order quite a few ingredients from amazon to make the recipes but overall the ingredients are easy to get in a good grocery store. Sometimes there is a lot of receipes inside receipes so a meal can get kind of complicated. But overall a great book.
