I order 2, one came without holes. since it was international shipping, so I just made holes manually using a drill.

This plate fits perfectly, color-wise, with our Nest thermostat. Easy to install, nice finish!

This feels and looks very good, it's made from metal with a decent thickness to feel good and looks apart. I think it's a great value if you are looking to expand the footprint of your nest thermostat. One thing to be aware of if you have any type of existing rectangular thermostat on the wall, there may be a chance that this wall plate does not cover up the holes or marks that were behind the original thermostat. I purchased a many for the thermostats in my house and only two locations were suitable, the other six had defects outside of the circle. This is not the fault of the wall plate, more of the builder or installers who did a sloppy job on the original install. The two locations had thermostat wires coming out of a 3/4" hole in the wall which worked. The other locations there were 3" holes or long gashes on the people trying to locate the thermostat wires and needed drywall repairs to install a nest without Wallplates.

I bought and returned an ecobee after a friend recommended to try the Nest. So glad I did. My furnace only has 4 wires (white, green, red and yellow) This thermostat works perfect without the C wire. Easy to set up and looks awesome on the wall. The only con I have is trying to turn the hear up or down on the thermostat, you have to touch the right spot or it takes you to the set up menu...a little annoying and usually end up telling alexa to do it for me.
