GraphtechPT606000 BLACK TUSQ XL NUT SLOTTED 1/4inch EPIPHON

Bought this to replace the plastic nut on my Epiphone LP. Yes it's slightly oversized which means if you want to make it perfect, you need to sand down the sides as they overhang the neck by perhaps 1mm each side. I couldn't be bothered as you can't see the overhang nor can you feel it while playing but it's oversized for a reason. It's also slightly tall so again, you'll need to sand it down to the right height to get the correct action. I was lucky that even though I tried to be as gentle as possible in removing the old nut, it took a little wood with it which meant once I sanded down the neck to be flat, the new nut was at the right height!Anyhow, I would say that this is a worthwhile upgrade - I felt as though my LP had a little more sustain and perhaps even a little more harmonic content. Perhaps that's confirmation bias but it's a decent upgrade for little money and an hour of my time so well worth it.

Can definitely hear a difference since i put it on. Fitted pretty well on my Washburn Pro, which is pretty close to a Les Paul sized neck. Only a small amount of sanding needed, and thats only because I wanted a perfect fit. It would have been adequate anyway if you're not as fussy as me 😜

i like the improved tone and tuning stability of the graphtech nut. i did realise i had to either take a few mm off the nut slot or the nut itself, just something to be aware of.

Fitted with no problem and sounding great. For a few quid this is cheaper and easier than making your own.

Great nut. Might need a wooden lift depending on your guitar. Best bet is bringing it to a music shop.

Very impressed, easy to work and tuning is massively improved. Fitted an Epiphone Sheraton II nicely, if it were 1 or 2 mm longer it could be trimmed to perfection.

Nothing to dislike.I fit Graphteq nuts to all my 3per side electrics.No hang ups with these puppies
