This is a beautiful collection of Mario Sorrenti's photos. This is going to be a classic. Get it now while you still can. I have been a fan of Mario's work for some time now. I am happy that Stern finally showcased him. Gorgeous !

There's a couple of ways to look at a book like this: as a collection of artistic photographs by a world-class photographer, and as a study of the nude form as seen by a particular artist. Either way, this is an interesting collection of images. Sorrenti has his own style which is obvious in many of his photos, and he made a name for himself with some iconic images for Calvin Klein. The collection here has images from advertising campaigns as well as feature shoots for big-brand magazines, as well as an interesting collection of celebrity portraits (not all nude images, in other words). This is a rather large format book, which does justice to the images as a whole. It's not very thick, at less than 100 pages, but there's a variety of photographs you won't find in many other portfolio presentations. The nude images themselves vary from traditional to artistic takes on the subject. There's little text accompanying the images, so there's no explanations of context or intent, which is a bit of a disappointment. Still, this is a collection that could comfortably sit in any library.

1970's photography... kinda old fashioned... if you like that style, you will like this publication
